This is a difficult review.
We booked the trip quite late and did not have many choices with accommodation in Trogir. We chose this one because the rooms looked nice online.
The taxi from the airport costs 270 KN (kuna). It is a little expensive seeing that Split airport from the hotel is quite a short distance. But it was convenient, so we did that.

The apartments are at the top of a very steep hill. The beach is a 10 minute walk from them. We knew this before booking but thought it would be ok.

When it is 35 degrees everyday, this hike can be difficult if you have young kids. The first day the kids hated it, but then they got used to it. It is actually really good exercise and by the end of the week, it was no problem at all. At the end of the walk back to the hotel, you simply take a dip in the pool to cool off.

The apartments are painted green, in fact it is the only building in all of Split that is green. They are very new and very well built. The wifi is excellent (each apartment has own router) but netflix will not work and it struggles with youtube. Facebook etc is no problem.

You can pay more and get a room with a view and this is highly recommended because the sunsets are amazing from the balcony. We were on the third floor and so the view was perfect. If you are on the ground floor with a sea view, then it is not so good - but you are close to the pool.

We are small kids and I was worried about being on the third floor but my kids were told what not to do and so the rest of the trip was trouble free - as far as them doing anything silly on the balcony was concerned!

The room comes with everything you need to make your own food etc - even has sugar, salt and pepper. Oven, dishwasher, clothes washing machine, toaster, freezer, cable tv, DVD player and air conditioning.

The month of July is very hot and so a room with AC is a big bonus.

There is one staff member who is at reception. He was not too helpful and a little arrogant actually. We often saw him near the beach etc and he did not know who we were. He has some sort of association with some of the activity companies there and we realised this when he was trying to talk us into taking a tour somewhere.

The reception is open from 0900 - 1600.

On the way down to the beach, you will pass 2 scooter rental places. When you get to the beach, there is a "spar" like store and a few doors down a "tommy" which is cheaper. Both have bread, drinks, food, sunscreen etc. We used Tommy mostly to fill the fridge for the kids.

On the last day at the apartments, the power cut out. It was out all day and all night, so there was no AC and all of our food defrosted from the freezer. I had about 3 hours sleep and so did the rest of the family. It was horrible. Our "friendly" reception guy said it would be fine and that the power would come back on soon and that it was a grid problem. That it was not because we were the only building in all of Okrug that was without power.

Everyone was angry and we were not getting any help from this guy. There is no Hotel emergency number to contact if something goes wrong but luckily my wife has his mobile number because he called us to confirm the booking. Some people even suggested they did it to save money on electricity. Hopefully that was not the case.

Anyway, we had to keep the doors open and the mosquitos were deadly. My kids were eaten alive and are still itching 3 days later with big bite marks all over their bodies.

Take with you some mosquito repellent if you do not have AC or are out late at nights.

Pros: Great sunset view from top floor, new apartments, wifi.
Cons: Staff, distance from beach. There is live music four nights a week in July on the beach which is very loud - even from the hotel which was about 600 metres away.

Please note that the apartments are located in Okrug and not Trogir. You need to take a ferry to the town of Trogir which takes 15 minutes. Okrug beaches were packed with almost no place to sit down and the water was quite dirty. This was our third trip to Croatia and it was by far the most dirty water we have seen.

Tip: Hire a boat for a day. We did this for 220 euro and it was great. We stopped at a few different places, swam and snorkeld in beautiful waters and had a great time.

Would I stay there again - no way. Next time, we will try somewhere away from the tourist traps.

If you are young and single Okrug is a good place for you. The beach is littered with bars. If you are a family, I would suggest Makarska instead. (although there are probably a few other great spots - we have just not found them yet)

Room Tip: Order the top floor for a great view.

Nice and big apartments, a small pool. Unfortunality you had to walk 2 km to the beach, and there were no information about that in the information about the hotel.
There are a lot of bars at the beach, but only four or five restaurants in the whole area. That was a big minus

This is an excellent place to stay if you are a family and want to be close to both the beach and to Trogir. It is a steep walk down to the beach but the view from the hotel is great. The apartment was in perfect condition, spacious, clean and comfortable. We are a family of four (two daughters 12 and 14) and it was perfect for us.
