“Expensive but the Lobster was yummy!”
Reviewed 24 February 2012

Coming from the mainland of Honduras we were a little shocked by the prices in Roatan and the Lighthouse was no exception. If you're on a budget, consider sharing one of the large meals. Our lobster plate with two tails and lots of other sides. When we finished we both felt satisfied but not stuffed (probably a good thing). The lobster was really fresh and well cooked. This is definitely a place to come for seafood.

“Loved the location and food/drinks”
Reviewed 21 February 2012

We were on a cruise and took a private tour of the island and stopped here for lunch. Had to have the "Great La La Monkey" drink (I think that was what it was called!) haha Only on vacation! I had the blackened fish sandwich, and it was delicious. Loved the mayo that has fruit combined to give it a special kick/taste. Unfortunately we hit an overcast/rainy day when there, but still enjoyed the view and location. Other reviewers complained about the slow service...it was definitely laid back, but I wasn't bothered by that at all. I would definitely consider coming back to this restaurant if I was on Roatan again.

“poor service hurts this place”
Reviewed 18 February 2012

Bummer the tasty food was overshadowed by the poor service. They have a great menu and location with reasonable prices. Island time dictates less than speedy service but this was a bit much. They also ran out of Port Royal (a crime in Roatan).

Kick it up a notch and this place could be great.

“Nice view, but...”
Reviewed 17 February 2012

We chose the Lighthouse in West End for lunch because it overlooked the water. We sat in the bar area near the water, which was nice. Unfortunately, everything else about the meal was sub-par. Service was slow and surly. The food (ceviche and calamari) was boring in the extreme. The ceviche hadn't cured long enough (fish was very chewy) and tasted like it was in ketchup. It was served with saltines. The calamari was rubbery. We were able to keep ourselves from starving, but then we waited a good 10-12 minutes after requesting our check (there were only 2 other groups in the restaurant at that time and 3 staff). The bill for this lunch was ridiculously high, given the quality (around $40 for the two appetizers and 2 waters) after tax and tip.

“Stick with the seafood”
Reviewed 14 February 2012

A group of 6 friends including myself stopped there for lunch on the way back from Gumbolimbo Park and the reviews were mixed. Fries and wings were greasy. Lobster tails were grilled but good. Fish tacos (I had these) were great as was the conch soup. Basically I think is you stick with the fish and seafood you can't go wrong. A small place with a great view. I would definately go back.
