Need to grab a quick lunch between dives and Calelu's is centrally located with really good food. Came here twice between dives, and both times the food was great. I had fish tacos the first day, very filling and mixed ceviche the second. The food is quite quick to come out but you may have a hard time getting your server's attention to get the bill. Since I had to be back at the dive shop I just stood up to go which got their attention. You take your bill downstairs to the cashier in the little grocery store to pay.

There is a wide variety on the menu, but we kept going back for the baleadas. They are incredibly delicious and cheap! Our waiter and his apprentice were super friendly and energetic. While they don't really sell beer, you can order it and then they run a few doors down to get it for you, so go with a Salva Vida to keep it simple. Upstairs dining room is very comfortable (up steep steps) or sit down in front and people-watch. Then pay in the little market in the back. We'd go back here for sure. Felt like true island life.

Look from street level as they prepare various Specials of the Day. Seating upstairs is airy and open on a warm day at the beach. In our group of 5, we each ordered a different Special and each of us enjoyed our choice: coconut beef, pork chop, chicken cabob were a few options. Dinner also included 3 choices for sides while most other places offered 2. Super friendly, and efficient staff too!

We stumbled upon Calelu’s when our first option was closed for lunch. Sometimes things have a way of working out for a reason. This was a fantastic (and cheap - see picture all of that for $5) find! The food was sooo good and so was the service. While they don’t serve beer, you can walk across the street and buy some beer to bring back to the restaurant. Nice to see places share business! Give this place a try - so much to choose from and so good! Fresh, delicious and great prices!

Great experience!! Staff are kind, fast, and they make the best baleadas around! Delicious beans and spices, I can’t get enough. Pastry is made right in front of you. Fresh, quick, and CHEAP! Mr. Calelu... HI! from Connie in Canada!
