We stayed at this hotel for 3 nights as part of a 2 week Thai Holiday.

Phi Phi island wasn't all it lived up to be (but then this isn't a review about the island right).

The hotel is ok. It has the feeling that it would have once been a great hotel, but now is showing it's age. We were fortunate to stay in a standard room and delux (sea facing) room. The difference is like night and day.

The Delux room was really very nice. New, facing the water and spacious. The standard room was pretty average. A little worn, electric shower, a bit drab. So while we spent some time at the delux room, sleeping and on the balcony, we spent as a little time as we could in the standard room.

The beach is ok (the water was a little dirty while we were there) and a continual stream of long boats coming in and out of the beach was a little annoying (there are actually 3-4 resorts on this stretch of beach). The grounds are nice, restaurant ok.

The staff were certainly very nice.

Overall, if you can get cheap rooms, this hotel is middle of the range.

Room Tip: If you can afford it, definitely get a Delux or sea facing room.

This is a very lovely property, on a white sandy beach. The rooms are a bit dated, but clean and maintained. We stayed here recently with our 9 month old child. The staff could not have been more friendly and accommodating to our special needs. The best part of this hotel is the staff. They really go out of their way to make you feel comfortable. If you are into scuba diving, please see Julie in the dive shop. She is very knowledgeable about the island, and is a very great dive master.

The only negatives: This is quite difficult to get to. We were lucky enough to take a speed boat from Phuket, but this is expensive (10,000 + Baht). Otherwise you will need to take the regular ferry which is over crowded and very hot. They pack the boats over capacity, so get there early if you want a seat. You will then need to take a longtail boat from Tonsai Bay for approx 1000 baht.

So yes I would recommend this hotel, but do yourself a favor and take the speed boat service.

Next door to the restaurant (north side) is a hole in the wall restaurant called Jasmine. Wonderful food, and very nice people, but not fancy!

Room Tip: All are in close proximity to the beach, so does not really matter.

We stayed here for 4 days on our honey moon and enjoyed it very much. In some aspects Phi Phi and this place was the best part of our honeymoon. In terms of specific attributes
Room: The room we were subsequently given was very good. Clean and well maintained. We did not find any insect/lizard in our room but its a resort. So bear in mind that you will have to be careful with leaving the door open and stuff. Otherwise a lizard or an insect might creep in on the wall. But not to worry the hotel staff would gladly remove it for you.
Resort: .. A good resort (slightly old) in terms of property but overall good quality, well maintained and well kept... Don't expect the likes of new shining Dubai hotels. Considering the quality of the property, location and experience it is a very good deal. Best value for money in terms of similar hotels on phi phi.The walk back to our room on the wooden bridge of the resort were awesome, with tree/plants around, a pond beneath the bridge. Dim lights. Frogs croaking. It was liking walking in a forest. Very natural, very safe and very nice. Sunset bar is amazing at the sunset.. walk your way up the hill and take the feel.
Prices are very reasonable for food and beverages. We had our food at the hotel.. (Watch out: For dinner keep a mosquito repellent handy, cover your body completely otherwise you ll have a hard time.) - Do try the pizzaas for lunch.. they are good and very reasonably priced.

Do spend on activities like snorkeling, scuba diving, spa, day trips etc. otherwise you might feel a bit bored. The resort has tennis, snooker and table tennis to keep you occupied.

Location:Its serene and peaceful, on the beach, clear water. There is not much to do outside the hotel. Only a few local shops etc. Not much of treat to see or explore. I would have rather stayed in the resort itself. Do take trips for the nearby islands and snorkelling etc. Otherwise you might get bored in the resort alone.

Staff: Considerate and caring staff ( We had booked a sea facing bungalows - did'nt quite like it because of the air conditioning and room quality. Complained and were upgraded to an amazing bugalow). They also removed a lizard from our room very gladly. They also lend you movies if you want.

All in All it was one memorable trip and place to say...

Room Tip: Get a pool side ... sea facing room.. Huge and new.

The property is nice, but the rooms resemble a nice Motel 6 here in the US. The bathroom was not impressive. The food however was really good, and the boat transportation to other parts of the island was good as well. Service was just ok, some of the staff seemed a little arrogant at times. Overall it is a decent place to stay, but don’t expect anything special with the rooms. They are a place to sleep and that is about it.
