i am extremely dissatisfied with this hotel, and with asia web direct.

i think that firstly, i should mention that the rooms are OK and private, and that the views are good from the rooms.

however - we were forced to pay (a large sum of money) for a gala dinner for new year that we did not want, if we wanted to stay at this hotel. (it was horrible incidentally). the food in general was ok, other than the breakfast which was utterly inedible and left us having to search elsewhere for food despite having already paid for our breakfasts.

upon arrival, i was told that my fiance and i did not have the double room that we had booked through asia web direct, but a room with 2 single beds. i was assured that this would be rectified the next day, but after speaking with the manager it was clear that unless we paid to upgrade to another room, they were not going to allow us to have a double room.

another couple were there on their honeymoon and were told exactly the same thing. i find it extremely unacceptable that asia web direct advertises something that you pay for and then does not deliver on that.

the manager of the hotel then told us that if we didn't like it, we could stay at another hotel. so completely and utterly rude that i started to lose my temper with her.

i then asked if i could have 30 minutes extra to check out as a gesture of goodwill and they refused saying that it was impossible. i could not believe that after mucking us about so much, they could not extend us this one small courtesy.

do not book through asia web direct unless it is absolutely necessary, and other online hotel booking websites have gone bust and are no longer in business.

do not stay at this hotel unless you want a rude, overpriced experience that does not keep the customer in mind and tries to lay blame on anyone and everyone else rather than trying to rectify their screw up.

AVOID!!!!

Spent there 2 weeks having vacations. Most of all i liked the location. Very quiet territory but if you walk 5min to the villare you can enjoy all the clubs, drinks, massage and other stuff available. The famous long beach is also not so far, maybe 7min walk by the seaside. Some reviewers complain abouy the hills that you have to conquer - you know, it's a matter of age and attitude. I'm 25 and i don't care, it was fun. This hotel is the best compromise of price, location and activities.

Room tip: We had a deluxe villa and i was in the 3rd row from water. Nice clean room with a double bed and a huge balcony. If you book in advance you can send them emails with your preferences.

Location is convienient but rooms are all uphill on a heavy steep, pool is average nothing unique about it really, the staff arent the smartest of people and to top it off the water went out and was pumping crap through the basins and shower.

I personally would not stay again. just find somewhere else they're alot nicer hotels on the beach.

Room tip: If you choose to stay here try to get a room in the 100s section this is the closest otherwise its quite a hike to the top.

We stayed here as part of a package with transfers from Phuket. It is a little bit away from the main area at the end of the beach but this suited us. breakfast was included and included the usual range of buffet options. The best part is of course the view as the resort is right on the beach with the bungalows up the hill. Room was clean, had fridge, kettle and safe. Aircon worked well and bed was comfortable. There were also a couple of sun beds on our balcony. Staff were friendly.

Again with this hotel I read some very mixed reviews but read that the location was good so decided to give it a go.
Arriving at PhiPhi and on the trip to phiphi we were blown away by the scenery. Arriving at the port a longtail boat picks you up and will take you to the hotel.
At checkin we were greeted off the boat with fresh fruit drinks but the staff were a little rude to some guests and not very accommodating. One guest had booked with a local thai website and the hotel didn't have their booking. They asked what to do now and reception didn't seem to care even though they had a young child. However i later checked the website they booked on and noticed that they don't take accept credit card details and I can understand that the hotel probably didn't authorise them to take bookings for them. However I would have expected the hotel would contact the guests before and ask for card details but the lack of english is probably a reason why this didn't happen.

However our experience was good, a gentleman carried our bags up the steep hill (older or unfit people beware) to our sea / bay view cabin and we were blown away by the view. It was incredible with loungers out on the balcony but the view was brilliant especially for the amount we were paying. The room was a wooden cabin type interior inside with a fan and aircon and it had a 32" lcd tv with a decent amount of channels. Breakfast was included and each morning you could have you eggs cooked fresh for you the way you liked and eat directly on the beach. Bayview is located at the end of the beach so its very private, we also ate at the hotel restaurant one night and it was good quality with the waves almost touching our feet eating at the seafront.
We had 3 nights left unbooked anywhere at the end of our holiday and stayed initially for 3 nights at bayview and liked it so much that we decided to return to phiphi and bayview after our 3 nights in aonang.
I almost forgot to mention the poolbar, after arriving we went for a swim and had the pleasure of enjoying beer sitting underwater and happyhour runs for about 5 - 7pm so you get 2 beers for the price of 1 and we made use of that every evening.
They like to play love music allot at the pool which added to the whole tropical feel and the bar staff were also very friendly.

I mentioned at the start that reception staff can be hit and miss. The manager a short well built woman seemed to have the more aggressive type manner when guests complained but i did notice that she warmed towards us after a few days and especially when she seen that we liked the place and rebooked for extra nights. She actually was giving us smiles by the end of the week. If your going on a long boat trip shop around down the village as we got a longtail trip for 25% of the hotel price after we bargained.

Overall i recommend this hotel and recommend it to couples looking for a romantic time, i would go for a room with a sea view to make it extra special.

Room tip: Go for the sea view
