Advice if you’re looking for luxury in Ko Phi Phi

3.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed 24 Nov 2024via mobile
Ko Phi Phi is a very expensive island for accommodation compared with staying in Bangkok, Koh Samui, Krabi etc. if you want luxury 5 star hotels you will pay for it here. I.e over £200 per night.

Our hotel room itself was clean yet basic, breakfast was ok. Surrounding areas were beautiful, as the area is a snorkeler / diving paradise

The hotel does do a free longboat service back to the main pier which is useful and saves you 200 baht.
Date of stay: November 2024
Room Tip: Have a good amount of cash on you as long boats between the long beach and main pier add up

Restaurant best on island. We did not stay in hotel but stopped here for lunch food was so fresh and tasty we ate here every night during our six night stay.
We tried different dishes every night and were not disappointed.
Big thank you to Kalia who was main server she does a great job and runs the restaurant very well. Thank you for looking after us.

Welcome to "Paradise" Resort Phi Phi. Well, it is not such a paradise, unless the host meant it more as irony...
If you're a couple, you'll appreciate a romantic place like this. But definitely not in this kind of accommodation, and it didn't help that it is a villa located immediately beside Long Beach. I'll tell you why...

You walk into a room and find that basically everything around you is dirty in various ways. The curtains, the table, the shades, the shower, the bathroom surroundings. Would you like to have a couch in your room stained with a strange white liquid? No problem, you'll find that here too! All nicely attached in photos.

You'll probably be upset and want to go solve it, like we did. And guess what. Will they come into the room WITH YOU so you can show them what's wrong? No, they won't. Will they at least offer to clean the room again? You won't hear anything. Will they want to offer you some kind of compensation, like a discount? Of course not, not even 1 baht. Will you at least hear a word of apology from anyone? Anyone?! No, why the heck would they?

What will you hear instead? That "no problems" were found and that "want completely new items It's probably impossible".

We left the accommodation immediately and found a new and, more importantly, cleaner, better, with kind people and at a much lower price. I STRONGLY RECOMMEND OTHERS: FOR THE PRICE YOU PAY HERE, YOU WILL FIND MUCH BETTER ACCOMMODATION ELSEWHERE. It doesn't even help that the villa is by the beach, as ours was, as it was right next to a restaurant where people are always moving (mainly durring breakfast). So basically everyone can see directly up to your bed who walks by.

In conclusion, I would like to tell the host: Please, for our money you have kept, do what is "impossible" for you and replace at least some items if you want to keep at least those who have no clue.

Room tip: Here you will also find a lot of longboats and people.

Filthy room , electrical wires hanging in shower room , dirty bedding , mould everywhere in bathroom , sewage smell in property , rusty fridge and a safe you could just pick up and walk out with , I have many photos to share , very rude staff was not interested and blamed booking .com for overbooking , so gave us this absolute disgrace of a standard bungalow

Not happy with the experience at all. First, when we arrived on the main island, we were told to wait an hour until the long tail could take us. The guide told us he would watch our luggage, but when we came back, no one was watching it. We were then told that the tide was too low for our complementary long tail, so we needed to pay THB 200 to ride a public one. We got to the resort and checked in. The workers at the front desk were not friendly. We were brought to our bungalow in the far back corner. These bungalows are old and dark. If you book here, book the new bungalows. Luckily there is working hot water in the shower. The beds are like sleeping on a wooden box. Only 2 pillows on the bed, the shades are not blackout, and you cannot turn off the porch light at night. The picture windows are boarded up. The tv is old without Netflix, etc. the hair dryer doesn’t work properly. The breakfast is fairly good. The dinner selection is the usual Thai/American menu. Lots of drinks, smoothies, fruit choices too. The view is great. The private beach area is good. No beach towels or mats are provided. You have to bring your own or buy from them. We asked for 11:30 checkout and were told no. The grounds aren’t kept well. The weeds and grass are overgrown. Just down the way, the Paradise Pearl is beautiful, and we are envious of those. We definitely do not recommend staying here unless you are going for cheap price & cheap quality.

Room tip: Book the new bungalows with ocean view. Stay away from the old bungalows.

Perfect retreat from busy Phi Phi. We love the staff and the beach front for snorkelling and daily swimming in crystal clear water. Longtail boat to neighbouring islands. Perfect holiday with teenagers. We had the Seaview room which was paradise for the 3 of us.
