Secluded accomodation away from the main hustle and bustle. Short walk into town.
Very helpful host with excellent local knowledge.
Clean rooms, adequate ammenities with great air-con (much needed!).
Lovely pool which almost feels like your own private pool.

We really enjoyed our visit. We stayed in Baan Sawainam for three nights. Heather was there to meet us on our arrival and was always contactable by the phone that was left in the room for us. She ensured we had plenty of towels, water and everything else we needed including booking tours and advising us on restaurants.

The pool was great and because the property is so small we had it to ourselves everytime we got in.

We loved how quiet it was but that you could walk quickly to the shops, restaurants and beach.

I'd highly recommend a stay there, and if I was in a group- I'd book it out and have it to yourselves!

We spend there 2 Weeks, and everything was very nice. Nice small appartment, close to the beach. Wonderful pool in the middle, and good air condition.
Heather (Manager of the appartments) is very nice, and try to help you if you need something. Really a great time!!!! Next year again!!!!

Room Tip: All rooms are surrunding the pool!!!!

My partner and I stayed at Baan Sawainam for a week and had a great time!
The accommodation was clean and comfortable, it's in a great location- 5 min walk to beach and shops- & staff were very friendly and accommodating!
We could not fault the surroundings and absolutely loved the pool, whenever we sat out we had it pretty much to ourselves and it was just so peaceful.
We would definitely return!

We stayed for 6 nights in the Studio accomodation.

PRO
- the location is very quiet even if at just 10 min walk from the Sairee village. It's near the Koh Thao jungle
- the air conditioning works well
- the fridge in the room let you have a pleasant breakfast at morninig under the portico near the swimming pool
- Heather, the owner, is helpful and help you to arrange some exursions in the island
- the swimming pool it's beautiful but with a such amazing sea all around you only use it for few minutes per day

CON
- they didn't clean the room every day even if we didn't exit the room later than 10 am. So it's happened that we weren't with no toilet paper and towels
- during our stay we had a termites invasion with hundreds of termites in our room and in our backpacks and for 2 night we had in our room a very big gecko (20 cm long) wich made very disturbing noise during the night. So if you come in this place consider the fact that the accomodation it's litteraly near the jungle
- the water closet sometimes had a bad smell and it produced occasionally noise I thinhk for chages in the water pressure
- the studio room it's quite small so better to stay in the villa accomodation

Heather K, Manager at Baan Sawainam, responded to this reviewResponded 2 November 2015

Thank you for staying with us. We are happy to hear that you enjoyed the amenities of the property like the swimming pool and cool air condition. It is helpful after spending the day in the hot Koh Tao Sun. We are sorry to hear that you did not have your room cleaned. This is very strange. We do give our guests a mobile phone so that can reach our property manager for any questions or if they need anything for the room such as more towels and so on. We even mention at check in to please call the property manager if they ever need anything. During your stay, we had to make a repair to the screens on the doors so they were removed briefly. Unfortunately, we experienced some rain on the island and that is what brought the ants out. There were attracted to the lights in the room and with the screens off, they found there way inside on the floor. The manager did come over to the villa straight away to help you with this issue and removed the ants and returned the screens for the evening. Koh Tao is a jungle and there are geckos, ants, and other wonderful creatures that you would not get to see if you stayed home. The gecko that you had seen was Fred. He is known as a friendly local as he is sometimes seen on the property. He has even been known to pose for a photo op for the guests as he sits on the walls outside of the villas. He has since relocated since we have made renovations to the Studios. They look brand new! They each come with new bedding, comfy sofa, and other furnishings. The new renovations have created more space for our guests to enjoy.
