There are not so many interesting places to see around this border town, so this temple on a top of a hill stands up above all in terms of altitude and interest. After walking up for around 5 minutes, you will be rewarded with a good view over town itself and neighboring Burma. Apart from vistas, there is a temple complex itself, some buildings are nicely ornamented and picturesque.
Place Well worth a visit indeed.

A really touristy yet nice temple complex at the top of a hill, easily accessible from the main road. Motor cycle taxis will take you up if the number of steps is too daunting. The Scorpion statue at the top has been there for ever, and is surrounded by an increasing number of other statues, temples and rooms. A great area for taking photos, particularly of the stunning views over Mae Sai and Tachilek. The sky is usually very clear in this area, and sunsets are very picturesque. So many good views from the viewing areas.

The temples are neat, decorated and ornamented. The temples are situated on the mountain that offers great views of the Myanmar-Thailand border towns. The urban growth has almost mixed and hard to differentiate where the actual border lies, from the top. It also offers great views of Pagodas in the mountain on Myanmar side, the golden Shwe-dagon like pagoda and other temples.
Thailand side temples are dedicated to Buddha, Ganesh and Indra.
