Booked this place as was told it was really cool here and looked really good on the website even though the rooms looked pretty basic.
The room (standard double): 350 baht during off season for a tiny bamboo room. No space for any of your stuff and as it's on a hill and it rains here a lot, you end up tracking mud into the little space you have. Nowhere to hang wet stuff like towels and didn't dry in rooms so all stinks. One plug that you can use either for fan or charging phone. The floor has holes in between the bamboo so lots of bugs can get in and you might drop stuff down the cracks. The WiFi doesn't work that well when it does work in the rooms.our bed dipped in the middle so ended up squishing together in uncomfortable positions most of the night and the blankets smelled. Also not at all soundproof rooms- was woken up at 4.30 in the morning to the sounds of a couple having sex 5 huts over which continued on and off until 6.30. Well done to that couple and everything but we didn't really want to hear sex so loud that it actually woke us up. Hearing sex sounds but quieter should be expected if you come here.
Shower/toilets pretty much constantly dirty due to mud but also smell awful. At one point the water was running out brown.
There is supposedly yoga at 9.30 and circus lessons but yoga realistically was one person at 9.30 then a bunch more people at maybe 11, so if you want to join in youll most likely sacrifice a day of exploring. Didn't see anything circus related at all. Also heard there were free shots at 8 but never had/saw any. There are people who will take you to or from town from 10-5 but we found this made you less keen to stay out and to just come back, although the walk isn't that bad. Pool is nice but you can come in for the day for 100 baht anyway so not really worth it overall to actually stay there. Keep in mind that there's a no outside food or drink rule so if you come up for the night you'll be paying more for alcohol On the plus side, it is a great place to meet people.
Overall we weren't very impressed, especially as it costs a lot more than many of the places in town which after seeing some of them looked a lot nicer to stay in.

Like a world human commune. Live music, campfires, cheap drinks, free breakfast & dinner. Lovely locals & friendly staff, minutes from town and the best vibes. If you're a bit of a free spirit you need to come here and experience its wonder :)

The place to go to meet people and have fun. Showers are clean, and provide gel and shampoo! The huts are very simple but comfortable. Breakfast is included and free shots at 8pm while everyone is either playing pool and listening to music ! Worth the price.

Honestly the worst hostel I've ever stayed in. I know it said basic but this is another level. The door to the hut didn't shut or lock. There were twelve people in bamboo beds that felt like I was sleeping on concrete. The blanket was wet. When I went into the room at one point there was a stray dog sleeping on my bed. There was no working light in my room and only one working fan that made a horrendous noise. There was no plug and the wifi didn't reach the room. If the horrendous hut wasn't bad enough everything shut down at 11:45. I understand this is the kings hours and I respect the no alcohol and no music rule. However they turned all the lights off and kicked you out of he reception area which is the only place you can use wifi or charge your phone or laptops even though I was sat in silence alone. This meant I wasn't able to talk to home due to the time difference. Honestly wouldn't stay here if they paid me too. The view may be pretty but certainly not enough to warrant this dogs dinner or a hostel. Do not stay, they're are much better places in pai for a similar price

just got back to chiang Mai after a stay here.
to say I loved it would be an understatement, on arrival we decided to stay longer straight away the price is cheap and the staff are friendly, loads of other travlers mingling about in the hostel from all over the shop.
the breakfast does the job and they have loads of activities on and people with skills teach each other.
there are different types of accommodation from doorms to bamboo huts to concrete rooms so you decide what is for you. but I would deffinelty recommend a stay here.
