I was a bit unsure staying here as a family, but I was really glad we did! The rooms were next to each other ( twin and a double) . The air con was brill and worked well seeing as it was roasting hot. All staff were friendly and helpful especially the young receptionist. We walked to all the orangutan sanctuary and the bear sanctuary all in easy reach ( approx 15 min). I can honestly say one of the best places I have stayed for a really cracking deal. Only thing that could improve the stay would be a fridge in the room as being a diabetic it would have helped.

Thank you very much for your positive comment Charlton.

After the rather negative one sided comment by our previous guest, we were rather demoralised.

Do have a safe onward travel.

Regards

We thought it might be a good idea to stay after visiting the Orangutan Sanctuary, the room was ok we booked for three Adults and got one mattress on the floor ???
With the other two beds , no TV internet only in reception area , with nothing else to do , was so bored , the restaurant offered the same boring menu for lunch and dinner with food below average,

Thank you for your feed back.

When you have requested for a triple, our reservation would have advice you to take up another room since we are equip to set up an extra bed within our chalet. All the chalets are build on a slope and its not only challenging to monoveur the wheel on the rollaway bed, the wheels actually scratches our wooden floor of the chalets.

Nothing to do is what most visitors want when they stay with us. A place far from the busy town and the hassle and bassle of tourists.

Yes, we do have internet and its at the reception area only. The trees around the chalets make transmitting of signal challenging.

Have a safe onwards travel.

We spent 2 nights in Nature Lodge Sepilok. The room was spacious and clean, the outdoor bathroom was fun. The area is well-maintained and had some friendly dogs and cats which I really liked. The location was just great. It took approximately 40 mins by car from Sandakan Airport to get there which is more than reasonable if you want to spend some quiet nights close to the jungle. We loved that the the lodge is next to the jungle and everything is within walking distance. It is 15-20 mins walk from the sunbear and orangutan santuaries. The rainforest discovery center is even closer. We spent a day exploring the sanctuaries and hiking in RDC. The staff was very friendly and helped us to organize our activities. There is a small store and a restaurant within the facility. The breakfast was ok, basically eggs and toast, but for a few days it is fine. In the restaurant the service is a bit slow but the friendliness of the staff compensates it. My only recommendation would be to have some fruits on the restaurant menu or in the small shop. During our stay they ran out of fruit juices, only watermelon juice was available. Highfive for the vegetarian menu (in my opinion it is not that easy to find proper vegetarian dishes in Borneo) we loved the veggie curries.

We loved our stay at Nature Lodge Sepilok. It was our first stop on a family trip exploring Borneo with our 4 year old.
We had arranged a transfer from Sandakan Airport, who was there waiting, and an extra bed in the room, which was ready. The staff were lovely and we loved the cats!! Our son fell in love with one of the kittens.
A little farther from the Orangutan Sanctuary, but walkable, and nice to be away from the bustle. Amazing location for visiting the Rainforest Discovery Centre, which we loved!
Room was lovely - good size, clean and air conditioned. We loved the 'outdoor' (covered) bathroom but as rooms are arranged in pairs some may not like the lack of privacy with this arrangement.
Breakfast was basic but nice and the restaurant food was good too.
Overall a lovely spot - thank you!!

Thank you for your feed back, Abi.

Yes, spot on, some visitors don't like the fact that the rooms are not stand alone ;) They want totally secluded and close by to all the usual modern comfort, its challenging! We are glad you have enjoyed your stay.

Do have a safe onward travel.

The nature lodge is a great hostel to lay your head for a night or two. The buffet lunch is AMAZING! Such great local fish. Everyone here is so very welcoming, especially Mei and Nana! Only a short walk to the orangutan center, and right around the corner from the awesome night walks at the discovery center. Would recommend
