It's all about the location and the views from the property. Rooms are comfortable but need a good update.
The location is key! 5 minutes walk to the orangutan and sun bear centres and 20 minutes walk to the Rainforest Discovery Centre.
The size of the property and its surrounding scenery exceeded my expectations! I didn't expect the jungle walkway to my room which was on a very sturdy and detailed bridge surrounded by a lake, jungle and overall just incredible views!
The pool area was a nice addition. There wasn't much of an atmosphere around it but it was beautiful styled and nice for a quick dip. The room itself was comfortable and big enough for two people.
The restaurant is a big open space with good breakfast options, good wifi and good options for dinner. The staff were friendly and helped us with an onward taxi to Kinabatangan.
The rooms could do with updating and a few fixes, especially as we picked superior rooms. The bathroom needed work and was quite rough around the edges, for example, the bathroom door wouldn't shut, the shower was basic with a drain that didn't work well.

Beautiful setting. Things seem scaled down and in need of a little TLC post Covid but still lovely. Basic rooms but clean and a simple menu but tasty. Great pool. Very friendly staff. Saw hornbills and woodpeckers in the lovely grounds and great location to walk to other attractions. Awesome for price.

The location is wonderful and the facilities are many and varied but all a bit tired. The room was spacious and the walk to it packed with wildlife but my bathroom wasn’t clean - not from the last occupant but fundamentally in need of a deep clean. The bed linen was clean (ie had been washed) but really smelt of cigarettes so when I woke up, I smelt like a smoker. Yuck. The bed was rock hard. I was in a group and we all said similar in the morning.
So 10/10 for location. 5/10 for the room. We also got chased along the boardwalk by a very angry alpha male monkey which made for an interesting start to the day!

We stayed 2 night there and its a ideal location for going to sun bears and orangutan sanctuaries, just 10min walk. But room are very basic and we had a deluxe room with view. Hotel ground is well maintained with lot of trees and lake, it feels like you are in deep jungle with all bird chirping at night. Atmosphere was excellent. But don't except anything fancy, all the amenities are very basic.
Overall nice stay :)

Good location for Orangutans, Sun Bears and Rainforest Discovery.

We had the superior room and we’re happy we did. It had aircon but rest of the room was basic. Beds were hard, shower had limited water pressure and the bathroom sink was in the shower.

Breakfast was included and was basic but enough. We are at the restaurant each night. Most meals were nice, a few were plain.

Friendly staff, nice to refresh in the pool but overall is very much a 2 star resort. Our room was 200m from reception as it’s very spread out. Good for a few days but no longer.

Room tip: Order grab driver for tours and airport transfer. Hotel can help.
