On 9.3.2018 we had our son’s engagement/ registration of marriage at the Ballroom. The whole reception was a big success and everyone enjoyed themselves immensely. This is made possible because the cluster sales manager Melissa Tusan was not only very tentative to our dietary needs and requirements for the traditional ceremony, she actually went all out to make sure the whole night was eventful! The spread of food was just amazing ! Thanks to the F& B outlet Manager, Frankie Wilson who was there to look into our every needs with Mohd Reduan. A very big thank you to Roy Abraham, the Guest Experience Manager who was there for the 2 days to look into the needs of everyone in my family especially for my Brother who is in a wheel chair . Roy with Freddy Liau and the team with the expertise of Yaakub Nawawi specially made a wooden ramp for my Brother to go to the stage to perform the ceremony ! That is a very warm and caring gesture ! Excellent job Miri Marriot !! Well done ! Everyone went home with happy and with good memories ! A huge thank you to the General Manager , Marc Cosyns ! We shall definitely be recommending this venue to family and friends!

It was never a great hotel but our last visit the other week was just the worst.
Staying in Brunei, Miri is always an attractive option for a few days. The Miri Marriott is about as good as it gets in terms of choice but they really need to improve.
it starts at Reception. I have travelled extensively but rarely come across more surly people behind the desk. As unwelcoming and as unhelpful as you can find.
At least many of the rooms have been upgraded now so that is a great improvement from before but counterweigh that with a breakfast buffet which has just gone from bad to worse. The quality of the food on the counters is at the very cheap end of the spectrum cheap ham, cheap cheese, cheap jam etc etc. Once upon a time they used to have great breakfast with lovely fresh home made jams. To make matters worse much of the food is uncovered allowing young children to handle the food. I would question how hygenic their breakfast counter really is
We go to this hotel because of their great pool for the kids. They have for years had a sand fly problem which seems to be getting worse. I was bitten badly this time as were 4 others in our group. The hotel seems to be doing nothing to resolve this problem.
i would strongly suggest that people think hard before going there.

Dear yazza1950,

I appreciate you taking time to share with us your experience while at our hotel. Having gone through your feedbacks, I have taken note on affected areas and share it with my team especially the respective department heads to look into it immediately and come out with action plan. As the sand fly issue can be seasonal, we continue to work with our pest control vendor to look for the best solution to reduce its occurrence .

It is our continuous desire to keep on improving our service and it is by feedback like yours that would help us to work on our lacking. We hope this experience does not stop you from staying with us gain in the future.

We came here just for a weekend getaway. As a elite member we were given a suite room for the stay. The standard of Miri Marriott is far from other Marriott chain hotel. But price wise almost the same. The room given is old and required an immediate refurbished.

Housekeeping service is very poor. Amenities were not refilled. We were given a set of very small shampoo for our 2 nights stay. No face towels and spare toilet paper!!

Food is ok. But some dishes would be good if serve hot such as the porridge.

The only good things is the big pool with slides and outdoor facilities.

Overall this is like a 4 stars hotel but 5 stars pricing.

The Hotel has comfortable clean rooms, big swimmingpool and above all very very nice staff. You need a taxi to visit the town Centre but of course there is a shuttle service. In the neighbourhood of the hotel there are very good local restaurants. We made trips to Lambir Hills and Niah caves.

The hotel is excellent in terms of facilities, cleanliness and overall cleanliness. Breakfast (continental) is excellent too!

Although it is located far from town, you could now use a ride hailing app service (Uber) to get around Miri.
