Thanks to all the friendly staff for an enjoyable stay at Casa Perleta riad. The room was very comfortable, breakfast was a good spread of Moroccan delights. The location is also great if you want to stay in the Medina. The friendly staff were always happy to help with requests and provided good advice of places to eat and shop.

My friend and I chose Casa Perleta based on TA reviews and were not disappointed. The guest house is situated perfectly in the medina, close to an entry gate so getting to and from with luggage isn't an issue, but also in a perfect spot to explore the gorgeous city and wander the blue streets getting lost but never completely. The staff were so lovely and super helpful, the air conditioning in our room was a must to escape the summer heat, and the breakfast on the terrace was a real delight. I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again or to recommend Casa Perleta, I only wish we had more time there.

We are so happy we stayed at this gem of a riad! There are so many things I loved about our stay.

First of all, the riad is very easy to find. After being dropped by the cab at the Bab, it was only a straightforward 3 min walk (though it was slightly bumpy to drag suitcases). Overall, the location of the riad was perfect for exploring. The rooms are a bit small but clean and neat. Our room H5 had a strange smell when we arrived and it turns out that the ceiling had been recently refurbished (beautiful ceiling by the way!) and the smell was the wood. Since we were staying many days, there was not another room available for that length though the staff offered to switch us for one day. In the end, they brought some incense and we got used to the smell quickly.

The riad is gorgeously blue. From the rooftop terrace, you can see most of the city below and the mountains in the distance. If you have breakfast early enough, you can still see the mist on the mountains. Throughout the day, you can hear the call to prayer echo across the valley.

Breakfast is amazingly plentiful with pastries, yogurt, dates, fruit, orange juice, coffee/tea, olives, and bread. One suggestion for improvement is that we were never told that eggs were available upon request and we only realized this when another guest ordered some. Also, some of the fruit served looked a bit sketchy... like strawberries that are closer to going bad than not. Given so many options already, we wouldn't have missed them so maybe best to just to leave them out.

The reception staff were so friendly and helpful, explaining to us how the grand taxi's work and showing us exactly where the stop is on a map.

There are so many cats in Chefchaouen and many of them like to gather at the doorstep of the riad. So cute.

Overall, this was the perfect place to return to after a full day of walking and exploring! I would highly recommend Casa Perleta to all my friends.

A great Riad to base yourself in Chefchaouen. An oasis of calm and great design with a wonderful terrace. You can select your room based on actual photos from the website. My favorite Riad in Morocco! Has the right balance of informal charm and professional hospitality.

It's hard to write tangibly about just why Casa Perleta was such a delight to stay at: there's something laid back about this place, a little rustic, as if you had wandered into someone's charming, cosy home, replete with a bunch of un-intrusive cats who have the run of the place; the two rooms we experienced were both intimate and comfortable, and were spaces we enjoyed returning to. The highlight is certainly the wonderful terrace, with great views of Chefchaouen, and a sense of timelessness that meant we spent hours and hours here -- the town's distinctive blue color is hardly showcased better than it is on this terrace (in fact, we think the terrace was responsible for us extending our stay in Chefchaouen by several hours).

It's hard to think of the people who run Casa Perleta as "staff", this seems like such a family-run enterprise, and while that can mean "rough around the edges" (don't expect them to accept credit cards; heck you can't even book them on Trip Advisor or Booking.com!) it also made for a welcoming atmosphere and informality-- not to mention excellent, authentic restaurant recommendations.

Factor in the excellent value for money and Casa Perleta is a blockbuster.
