Went to the Orchid Bistro in Ikeja, Lagos.
Nice place, rather small though. Tables are small & floor area is equally small.
Food is a bit pricey for the quantity you get. Meal was nice, had the full English breakfast, with coffee & fresh orange juice. I understand there are buffets on certain days.
Parking space is tight also and very limited, so you might be asked to come & move your car while eating.
Good place for a private breakfast.

My wife and I went there for our wedding anniversary. Welcome was fair and we were seated in no time. Menu was rather disjointed and most of the things we requested, they had run out!

Eventually we settled for steak with chips. The waiter went to check and came back that it was okay. We ordered 2 portions, only to be told 5 minutes later that a portion was all they had. We cancelled our orders and left.
If supplies are that lean, why open?

Was greeted by friendly staff and a yummy front desk snack/dessert display.
Both air conditioners in the area where i was sitted were not working.(the giant standing fan was just s distraction).
Menu was unecessarily big, heavy and pieces were falling off.(but yea, who eats that?) was honestly stressful to turn the pages .
My white forest gateau came in good time(about 5mins but waiter came in just when i was about to dig in to insist the display was not right and needed to garnish it properly. He took it and came back with some tiny chocolate flakes sprinkled on the plate. .) It tasted really nice though.
Mojito was basic... too basic...
Fish and Chips too more than the 20mins they told me...(said the first batch they made wAs below standard and they insist on getting it right for their customers).
It finally came. Bland fish. Crisp but broken chips...(50%).
Waiter kept coming in to ask if i was okay.
Dining area is a bit too close to the front desk...customers come in and stare right at you...
I paid 8500 naira for a mojito, the gateau and fish and chips(that i did not quite enjoy) in a hot atmosphere.

Verdict:
Food is over priced.
Do not come here if you seek a romantic ambience or want a "quick" meal.
The patio arrangement is good for photos.

Went with girls friends for a birthday dinner. We all ordered the same prawn pasta. There was an equal number of prawns on each plate 6, till i got my plate with 3 prawns looking really miserable, asked to speak to the chef who came out acknowledged that i was short changed on the prawns but couldnt do anything about it but offer me a free dessert. Then the bill came, i noticed we were under charged 20k cause the manager seemed to be a dummy. I told them of their mistake and then they proceeded to waste another 20 mins of our time calling everyone out to add and subtract for them . We really should have left and short changed them off 20k cause we didnt even get a thank you for our honesty. The owner should hire better staff. the staff in ikeja are a bunch of morons.
