We arrived at Aguas Calientes and a hotel employee was waiting for us to take our bags and take us to the hotel.

The hotel has a perfect location, it is steps from the bus line to go to Machupichu and near most of the restaurants.

The hotel is newly remodeled. We took a room with river view. The rooms are large and clean, but they are nothing wow. The wifi is not the best, but they have.

Breakfast is included and has everything. from scrambled eggs, pancakes, juices and more. The service of the employees was excellent. We came back after the machupichu tour to grab our bags that we left in the Hotel. We ask if we can take a shower before take out train back, even when we had already do checked out and they let us take the shower. Super excellent service and personnel.

Highly recommend.

Cute hotel located on the main street in Aguas Calientes, a short walk from the train and right down the street from the Macchu Picchu shuttle bus stop. When we checked in, we were asked if we had seen someone with a sign that had our names on it at the train. We had not nor had we been informed that someone would be waiting. Apparently, this person was going to transfer our bags and escort us to the hotel. This would have been super helpful had we been told us of this prior to arrival. The hotel also offers the option of storing your luggage while you visit MP, and can then deliver it to the train station for you 30 minutes before your train. We didn't utilize this service because we preferred handling our own packs but it may be useful for others.

There were two issues with our stay: the heat in our room did not work and it was freezing, it was our most uncomfortable night of sleep throughout our 10 day trip to Peru. Second, there are multiple wifi networks for the hotel and we were told to use the one with the strongest signal in our room however none of them worked. So we spent a cold, wifi-less night at this hotel. Luckily we arrived at 10pm and left at 5am for the shuttle bus so it wasn't the worst but it could have certainly been better. When we checked out the next morning the receptionist basically ignored my complaint about lack of heat and wifi not working. Breakfast is included and is available in the restaurant on the main floor. We didn't have breakfast given the need to get on the shuttle bus line but there is fresh fruit like bananas and oranges you can grab. For one night this hotel was suffice it's just unfortunate that we were given a room with a broken heater and no working wifi signal.

I just returned from Aguas Calientes, where I stayed at Tierra Viva Machu Picchu. The ultimate question for a review is this: Would I do it again? Yes. The price was very good, the room was clean, the personnel were terrific, it's a 2 minute walk from the center of town, and it comes with included breakfast. It's not as fancy as some. There are at least 25 hotels in that tiny town, and one that really looks like a resort, but this one is very nice and if I were to return to Machu Picchu, this is the first place I'd look for a room.

Hotel needs a facelift on all fronts exterior and interior as it his worn out. The hotel dies not have a “soul”, the hotel has a bit of a sanitized apperance. Good thing is the location in front of the busbterminal (temporary) and the breakfast formula starting 4:30.

Pleasant hotel with friendly attentive staff. The porters will guide you to and from the various stations and help with baggage. Rooms adequate and standard breakfast. However if you do nothing else in Peru: beg, bribe reception or sell a kidney to avoid a room overlooking the street. With erosion the buses to machu picu do a 3 point turn outside the hotel with full reverse warning sirens starting at 5 am. There is no double glazing and the windows don’t close. Plus the fact that the queue to catch sunrise at machu picu starts at 3:30am below your window and no one is quiet. Good luck.
