This was my second visit to this beautiful Hotel. As always the check-in was smooth silk. Everything was already arranged as if they knew who i was.. The meet and greet was excellent.

And then the room, Wow...! After a long ride, scorching sun, all you could look for is the perfectly air conditioned cozy room, just to drop back and relax.

The main attraction, for the kids... OMG was again the pool, the beach...!! One reason for me to come back was this..!! The pool staff was amazing..!! No matter where your from, they treat you as a King!!! The star of all this was the mighty Turtles that freely mingle around the hotel beach. This even for the adults was so fascinating!

And then comes my favorite!! The food!! In my 2 days we always had a reason to look forward for the yummy delights! My son is a vegetarian, and the chef made sure that the menu had his favorite Dhall curry for all 3 meals! Now I call that customer delight!!

Our stay at Tranz was amazing..!! The kids had so much activity, the pool, the beach, the beautiful garden...and then the tv!!

Thanks for making our stay a memorable one as always....Always with Tranz and its wonderful amazing helpful staff..! A BIG thank YOU!!!

We had 08 family members and got 03 rooms in the hotel. All on the 4th floor and with beautiful view of the ocean. Only issue we had all the rooms were double room beds and for me and my husband we had to sleep on those single beds which were together and it wasn't comfortable at all..
You can have your own liquor in the room. But not outside even in the garden or beach.
Massage was very relaxing.
We enjoyed breakfast, lunch and dinner for 03 days and it was amazing....!!!! If you are a Srilankan there were different selection of curries.. If you are a Indian again curries according to your taste buds.. If you are a foreigner, food according to your taste too.. Touch of Japanese cuisine as well.. Fresh seafood was magnificent..... Try to stay for the "Saturday night Seafood Fiesta"...
Overall We enjoyed our stay at Hikka Tranz Cinnamon and we still talking about it..

Not much improvement since the last stay. Checking in is still a pain and welcome drinks are hit or miss. The condensation issue is under control and the beds are super comfortable but Wi-Fi is still so so. The turtles still come to the hotel beach every morning but the hotel still doesn't make use of it. When asked, the security guards on duty didn't even know that there were any turtles just a few feet outside the perimeter of the hotel.

The grass is now cut and the hedges somewhat trimmed but overall the garden is still very shabby and ugly. Other hotels do wonders even with the little bits of garden that they have. Therefore with just a bit of initiative this massive garden can easily be turned into the best selling point for the hotel. This is sheer incompetence by the management. For instance trying to grow grass here hasn't worked all these years and it doesn't look like it will ever work with the type of Gardeners they have. So instead, why not altogether remove the ugly patches of grass that are here and there and convert the garden to a massive sand deck - a sort of infinity beach? Frangipani trees can provide beauty, shade and character and a wide deck paved with granite can save the pool from sandy feet. Surely such initiatives don't need millions of rupees. Neither do they have to wait for a major overhaul of the property.

There is still a shortage of wait staff on the verandah and garden and the food (the buffets !) has further deteriorated. The old man supervising the buffet appeared to be the Chef as well as the menu planner. He must be a vegetarian rice and curry eater for sure. When asked where is the beef and pork he looked very surprised as if it had never occurred to him that people eat those meats. That's probably why cold bacon is served for breakfast.

It's a beach hotel but prawns and crabs are scarce too. No proper salads either and boring desserts. It's the mango season in Sri Lanka but not a mango in sight. True they are expensive even in season, but surely a mango melba, mousse, Pavlova or some other desserts where a single fruit can be stretched to its maximum. Or mango topping for the waffles, mango sauce for the ice cream ?

The plates look white and clean but touch the surface of any plate and they are all grainy - that’s layer upon layer of old food residue ! A thorough boiling water soak and scrub may get that scum off. Many other things too suggest that the Mangers are on a non-working holiday. This property is a disgrace to the John Keels group and also to Sri Lankan tourism.

We stayed for 5 nights, and enjoyed the stay. The breakfast- and evening bufféts are both very big, and every day they come up with new dishes. One evening they have a separate sushi-table, the next evening they cook a big fish outside the restaurant etc. The location of the hotel directly on the Beach is just perfect, and the rooms are fine with a great ocean-view and a good terrasse. The near by shops are surprisingly good, and we also enjoyed a walk at the Beach to a very good fish-restaurant to have lunch. Sommetime bug sea turtles come very near the Beach, and it is a great Experience when that happen.

We went to sirlanka this year and what a fantastic holiday. The hotel was brilliant you got met by really friendly staff one guy stud out in the crowd suresh was superb so helpfull and so full of knoledge. The holtel was clean. The rooms were spacious and clean and there were clean towels every day which i like very much. The food was out of this world plenty of choices and very tasty you could not fault the food or staff all day. The bar manager was the friendlest he was a lovly chap. Then we have the fantastic pool staff really friendly nothing was a problem if you want a bed and towel once they got to know you and where you sat your bed was made up before you got near the pool. All the staff reception,bar,dinning,room were all so great that made my holiday really special. So thanks to all the staff at the tranz hikka by cinnamon.
