I was visiting Sri Lanka from the U.S. and traveling with a Sri Lankan friend, who found this lovely guesthouse. Our three-night stay was so lovely. The very sweet manager asked what we wanted for each meal, made a few suggestions and made us delicious, huge breakfasts and dinners. She even packed us lunches for our excursions.

I was told the house is not very old, but it's been built in the old open air Dutch style, so a wonderful breeze blows through all day. The bedrooms, however, are shut off from that, which keeps out the mosquitoes, and each bedroom has its own controllable AC unit. The bedrooms are huge and have large private bathrooms that are clean with plenty of hot water.

I didn't go swimming, but there was an inviting pool in the back, and with only four bedrooms, you could probably have the pool to yourself most days. There is a large front yard, which sets the house back off the road, making it very quiet for sleeping. The front porch was nice to sit on at night, though there were mosquitoes (but bug spray helped with that). I quite enjoyed the friendly neighborhood dogs visiting and hanging out with us.

There's free wi-fi and because I only had a smartphone, the manager let me use her computer to get online. Also, we took a safari ride through the nearby elephant park, and the guesthouse manager arranged for the safari jeep to pick us up and drop us off, which was so convenient. A truly wonderful stay!

Dramatic looking house, wide open on 4 sides to the elements, and unfortunately to the many mosquitos in this area. Bats flying thru the house did their best! Attentive service, kind staff and lovely food but baffled by request for a beer at the end of a long hot day. Gloomy bedroom, bathroom and bedding poor quality, damp and very musty smelling for the 'Deluxe' price of the place.

This is our first trip to Sri Lanka and therefore our first trip to the cultural triangle. The hotel owners Siri and his wife Charmaine along with their staff were wonderful. There are three spacious air conditioned rooms with very large on suite bathrooms. The food is fantastic! Chef will make anything but I have had hoppers for breakfast, chicken curry for lunch, prawn roti for dinner. I am one happy Canadian.

Room Tip: Each of the three rooms are large and equally quiet. The property is large so the rooms are far away...

This is a nice little boutique hotel with 3 rooms available within very close proximity to Habarana and right off the Habarana - Anuradhapura road. The location is really good because Harabrana is really a central hub for Polonnaruwa, Minneriya, Sigiriya, Dambulla and even Anuradhapura.

We stayed 2 nights at the Ficus Grove and we didn't feel like we're at a hotel, it was more like a holiday home of our own. The host Jayanthi was a good chef and provided good food and beverages with the help of staff Ruwan. Both of them provided great service and were very friendly and helpful.

We had the opportunity to meet the owners of the hotel Mr. & Mrs. De Silva and they were really good company and I enjoyed getting to know them. They were always making sure that the guests were properly serviced.

The place is very much an open space and has large rooms and spacious attached bathrooms. While not 5 star, they were in a good condition and had comfortable beds and air-conditioning.

The property has a nice swimming pool which my kids enjoyed very much.

If you are traveling around Habarana, I would highly recommend this place.

This is not just a hotel, this is a real treat in a secluded location just outside town and looks more like a private residence?

The property was built only a few years ago yet it looks well established and has loads of style and character. We felt really at home during our two day stay enjoying pre dinner drinks on the verandah. The rear of Ficus Grove has a vey pleasant and a small swimming pool.

Our host, Jayanthi was very helpful and friendly but also an exceptional cook.
