The reception staff was very pleasant, especially the young man who checked us in who was also helpful to us personally, I believe his name was Alguino or Algernon (sorry about inaccurate spelling) but the reception staff are literally sitting behind bars which made you feel like you were walking into a prison. Nice hardwood floors everywhere but the hotel is just so tired looking. The room was clean and fresh every day but absolutely barren. No coffee maker, not even a clock in the room. For $105 a night we would have expected more. The included breakfast was very basic and the same every morning. Juice, cold cereal, bread, a toaster, some sliced cheese and ham and some fruit. Coffee was good but its good everywhere in Panama. But we went there to scuba dive and the diveshop was very close so the location worked for us.

Room Tip: away from street at back of hotel; less noise

My husband and I booked a package trip from Costa Rica. We were so lucky to get this hotel. Room was clean, safe worked,T.V. did not even after we called to try to get it fixed.A.C. worked fine. We were in the off season, so did not find the hotel night club next door too loud, never heard it in our room. The hotel is down the street from the main attractions so seemed a little quieter.Staff very friendly. Breakfast not so good, better at other cheaper hotels only two kinds of fruit, bread to toast, cheese and not such good meat. Lovely balcony to eat breakfast on. After having had two very bad luches in Bocas we ate 2 suppers at the BBQ which is right out side the door of the hotel. Two of the best meals on our trip. The couple who run the place were very friendly. You also get 10% off if you are staying af fhe hotel. Hotel and restraunt great, more than I can say for other restraunts in the area.

Everything was correct : the rooms were nice and clean, location was very good, breakfast was basic but sufficient ( the breakfast area is really nice) , wifi worked well.
Quite a bit of noise in the evenings because of the terasse outside but pretty manageble. We had room 206 upstairs.
We were able to do a late check out without an additional cost and we were given a nice sign of courtesy through a ride to the airport on the house.
The view is OK but nothing really special.
Overall quite a good experience

The best meat on the island / El mejor carne de Isla Colón. Wonderful service, fast and friendly. I've been living in Panama now for 1,5 years and this was one of the best meats I've had. La parrilla es perfecto, la comida es simple y deliciosa. Nice porch is giving you a relax, don't worry about the rain feeling.

We stayed here recently with a group of friends and really enjoyed our visit. The building is historic- it was the offices of the United Fruit Company built around 1904. It has the ambience of a colonial town house and has a great balcony where you take breakfast and can people watch in the street below.

The rooms are very clean and appear to have been refursbished recently to a good standard, although I agree with one reviewer - some of the bathroom fittings were a bit flimsy and low quality.

The bed was excellent- a very comfortable king and high up, so easy to get in and out of for an older person. The generously sized room had a small fridge to keep drinks and also a security box.

The bathroom was well presented with an overhead shower that worked very efficiently and we never had a problem with hot water or low water pressure. The towels were good quality and fluffy.

There is a water dispenser in the hallway - it is not recommended to drink the water in Bocas.

The rooms are air conditioned- very necessary as the climate in Bocas is hot and sticky! Our air conditioner worked well, although someone in our party had a problem with theirs not working very well.

The breakfast was simple, but adequate. It consistent of fresh fruit ( usually papaya and watermelon), orange juice, coffee( nice), a selection of cheese slices and a type of luncheon meat( not very nice) and two of three types of sliced bread for toasting. The raisin bread was great. One morning some scrambled egg was available. As I have said it was simple but probably below the standard one would expect from this type of hotel.

The staff were very friendly and polite.

The location was very good- in fact nothing is more than 5 minutes walk away in Bocas, but this hotel is at the end of the main street away from the busiest part so probably experiences less noise that many of the other hotels. There is a disco fairly close to the hotel, which some people have complained about, but it didn't appear to be working for the three days we were there, so it was not a problem for us.

All in all the Bahia is a good location as a base for visiting Bocas and I would recommend it.

Room Tip: Choose a room on the second floor facing the side street, towards the back.
