Great shopping for brand names and lots of restaurant options to choose from. Lots of tuk-tuk's and taxi's to and from hotels.

Premier shopping area in New Delhi. Every western chain food and store just about is here. Pricey. Not real India. More of a hybrid western experience in India. If have been In rural India too long and long for things and fast food from home then spend time here.

It is one of the famous shopping and hang out place of Delhi. Surprised to see the cleanliness of the place being so busy market place. But I felt it would have been more clean. Lots of food options. Some famous eateries. Almost all branded shops are there. People can enjoy shopping with street hawkers. You can spend whole day if you wish to.

We purposely picked a hotel in Delhi close to Connaught Place because we knew there were numerous places to eat. We ate in 3 restaurants there - the Junkyard Cafe, 38 Barracks and the Ministry of Beers. The first two were exceptional with a great atmosphere. The latter was fair but the atmosphere was a little dull although the food was good. There are many more restaurants around Connaught Place that we would have liked to try and would definitely stay nearby should we visit Delhi again.

The CP of my college days has tried keeping up with times. The body remains the same, but the spirit is changing. Once a dark, dingy, seedy pick up joint after 11pm, it now is a hub of activity. The air is electric, you can sense the festivities and most of all...the croud is young.

So, what happened here...?

The entire area has now got new pubs, bars, restaurants and clubs that cater to the younger generations. The older restaurants like Embassy, Host, Amber etc are still holding their ground, but the new breed is taking over fast.

Top that up with innovation in decor, pricing and cuisine...and Voila. Delhi has reinvented its heart. Declogged its arteries and it is beating stronger, louder and better..

PS: Yes, Keventers is still here
