The Sunstar Residency Hotel is on a quiet street and within walking distance to many restaurants and a large shopping street. The hotel is also very close by to a hospital and many of the guest are there for treatment at the hospital

Room tip: request an upper floor room

We stayed in the Sunstar Residency for 2 nights. The hotel is not too far from Old Delhi, but still need to take metro to get there but note that the Metro station is still a good 15 minute walk away. There are some restaurants about 10 minutes walk away.

Our hotel room was huge, with functioning (but slightly noisy) air-con, lovely furniture, comfortable bed and decent bathroom. Overall cleanliness was good but additional blankets weren't the best. Noise was a problem though, dogs barking all night and being near main road, could often hear sirens.

Staff helpfulness was ok, but our main gripe was that we were offered a simple 'free' city map so we could explore the city and were walked down the road to their neighbouring hotel where we were suddenly faced with a travel agent. We now understand this is typical in India but felt this was an unnecessary and deceitful manner to get us to meet a travel rep who then offered various tours and trips we didn't want, which we found quite uncomfortable. When we asked for help booking a train out of Delhi he told us it was sold out but as we later discovered, there were loads of empty seats (in fact our carriage was only 5% full!) But he did recommend that we visit the train station to double-check though, which turned out to be good advice.

Overall, the room facilities in the hotel are decent, but the location and experience we had means we wouldn't recommend it above others. Therefore, an ok option but not first choice.

I have been to Delhi at least half a dozen times. This was the first time I was actually happy with a hotel. The hotel is located about 5-10 minutes walking distance from the Karol Bagh metro station in a quiet neighborhood.
The staff were very courteous, professional and helpful. The wifi was free and strong. The rooms and bathrooms were spotless. The rooms had cupboards, sofas, tables, flat screen tvs, heaters and mini fridges. The bed was excellent - I had a lovely comfortable sleep.
There is no restaurant but room service is there. The food was excellent.

Room tip: Rooms opposite the lift are in the middle of the hotel and thus quite; though with no views
