Reviewed 17 July 2009

I recently made a trip to Mumbai for a quick two day stay earlier this week and stayed at Hotel Nagina. After seeing the two-star rating on trip adviser I was hesitant to commit to the hotel, but with the assurance of my family in Mumbai, I agreed to staying at the hotel. From the outside the hotel doesn't look like anything special; the old architecture and the cheesy neon light sign make it seem unkept and an unpleasant place to stay. Even the lobby was not very impressive upon my entering the hotel. However after seeing the rooms, I began to believe. The rooms of the hotel have seemed to be renovated recently, as they had flat screen TVs, beautiful marble floors, and comfortable and tidy beds. Even though the amenities of an international hotel were non existent, the hotel staff most definitely rivaled those of many 5-star hotels I've stayed at.

Overall, if you are visiting Mumbai and need to stay near the Byculla or near-bindi bazar area and don't want to pay the premium price of the Taj or Hilton, you should definitely consider this hotel. The wonderful dedicated staff really made our stay a wonderful experience.
