My friend and I are two college students traveling around India over the month of December. We had just spent the past 3 nights sleeping out under the stars in the desert close to Bikaner. It was a lot of fun, but we returned to civilization tired, covered in sand and hungry for something not daal and chapatiis. We went to Tilonia where we were trying to make contacts with an NGO and happened to meet Dillip. He had taken time out of his day to show some of his guests to this NGO and said he wouldn't mind giving us a ride to Jaipur after we finished with our meetings.
We had such a lovely car ride back to Jaipur, discussing a wide range of issues. Dillip is a talented architect and showed us some of the impressive buildings he designed. We decided to spend the night with the Chaundras. That night we ate delicious bhaati, chorma and eggplant subzi, cooked outside. It was sooo good. We spent the evening having really lovely conversation and getting to know the family. If you want to make a personal connection with a local family while your in India this is the home stay for you.
That night we took a nice warm shower and slept in a comfortable clean bed. it was the perfect place to recover after straddling a camel.More
