Rooms are not sound proof
Untrained staff keep chatting in the corridors & I could hear the noise in the room!
A couple of times during the day, the staff danced to very very loud music & I got disturbed in the room; the management ignored my complaint ....

In the restaurants, no one greeted me during my entry, exit or during the service....

Even reception was cold in general....

I’m sorry that your experience was not a good one like our other guests, and we at Grand by GRT take great pride in providing the best hospitality possible, so it is of great concern that you did not experience this during your stay.

Your concern on Noise travel is noted and we have taken all cautions so noise wont travel to rooms, and its quite unfortunate to hear the same and we will surely look into the same. The lobby loud music happens only twice for 2 mins in a session as its a Flash Mob to entertain our guests and surely we will look into the decibel levels.

Again, we are sorry to hear that your stay was not as expected and hope that you will allow us to provide you with renewed services on your next visit. The clarifications given above are also only to clear up communication lapses if any and not to justify the failures in service.

An impressive lobby with the widespread breakfast layout in the centre gives a very different look of the ground floor. The front desk is pretty small but staff are exceptionally cordial. The small but fast capsule lifts take you straight up to the ninth floor... the view of the ground floor while in the lift is definitely a feast of eyes. Rooms are spacious and offer basic facilities. Daylight is abundant because of the facings of the rooms, though the centre space is relatively dark. Food, though the spread is wide in range, tastes average. Linen is clean, laundry seems exceptionally expensive.

Room tip: Smokers for 9th floor, otherwise corner rooms are convenient

We came to Chennai on Jan/29 and leased 2 rooms. We stayed on this hotel on Jan/29 - Feb/1. Overall we like this hotel. Security is good. Lift requires room access card. Each level there is security guard and very helpful.

Good breakfast which include indian and western breakfast.

Fast WIFI service. No issue to make Whatsapp Video call to home country.

My kids and parent like the breakfast.

Room tip: Quite close to T.Nagar. Auto driver only charge Rps50 from hotel to shopping complex.

After spending the first night, I was almost in love with the hotel - well, at least it's wifi as it was not only the most reliable in India but fast by any standard. Sure, the lines were stained and cracks and dust everywhere, and the concierge does not want to make restaurant reservation (I thought that was the purpose of their existence), but in the name of a spacious room and wifi, I was willing to blur my eyes and not to look too closely. Until Saturday. On Saturdays, apparently the bar is obliged to blare out tacky techno-pop until 1:30am. The music, if it could be called that, aided by the cylindrical plan of the building, was carried effortlessly and effectively to your room and ears respectively, door and earplugs notwithstanding . Upon complaints, the unhelpful front desk transferred my call to the said bar, where a barman shouted into my ears over the loudspeakers, "but this is the bar!"

As its a Pub the noise levels will be high when compare to Restaurants or Lounges, which even you are aware off.
