In town visiting with friends. We were one of two parties in the back room. Though the food was great, they can't handle more than one large party at a time.

Hostesses won't make eye contact, plenty of tables but long wait to be seated; waiter didn't speak English, didn't write down our order, forgot things and brought wrong sizes. Didn't clear dishes or refill waters.
Food was good but after all that, it didn't matter very much.

Good Mexican food is hard to find in Alabama but LasTrojas provided good food and plenty of it. I had 2 shrimp tacos with Mexican slaw and one steak taco (the Mexican slaw didn't go the best with the steak) They were very good with plenty of shrimp and steak. The charro beans had an interesting tang to them. My husband had the lunch burrito. It was over stuffed with chicken. The rice was very good and the beans were tasty. His only complaint was the food was not as spicy as he likes it. There was so much food that he could not finish his meal, very unusual. The service was good and competent. Water glasses were refilled without asking. They were having a special on the small lime margaritas for $5. When they brought me mine I had to ask if it was the small, it was and it was excellent.

The food is usually very good but the service is adequate. Usually very busy during dinner and there can be a wait. If you go for trivia, you have a problem hearing unless you are sitting very close to the person doing the trivia.

Decided to stop in for a quick bit on a Sunday afternoon. We were seated but never created nor did anyone bring chips & salsa to our table! We waited for about 10 minutes...Still nothing! So we relocated ourselves to the bar that was completely empty. The bartender greeted us & took our order right away, but we had to ask for chips/salsa as well as a refill on them. Our food was good although a little on the salty side. The bartender wasn't very cordial, nor did he seem interested he had customers. He was too busy setting up his bar. We even had to flag him down to get our check.
This isn't the first time I've had issues with initial service once arriving. Sometimes I think we're invisible!
