Centrally located on Maleka's Jonker Street, the iconic Geographér (so iconic they spell it with an accented é) attracts by virtue of its unique tropical greenery on the outside and the ecclectic decor inside which seems to bring together at least six centuries of history.
As in the past, the restaurant/café/bar lures people of all nationalities and offers menus accordingly - many fusing east/west tastes: (we ate deliciously Malay-spiced soja balls served with a best-in-class original Italian tomato sauce). It was so good, we couldn't resist coming back after our Jonker shopping spree to sample the excellent cheese cake, washed down with a strong and authentic Italian cappuccino.
Service is friendly, welcoming and efficient - and smiling.
The Geographér serves a wide range of drinks (including a broad assortment of beers) and is so popular it's opened a sister branch opposite.
In a city with a lot of history but few attractions, the Geographér almost alone justifies a trip. Viator Coloniae
