Stayed for 2 nights. Air con did not work. Towels ripped and stained and after dinner on the last night we came back to our door being left open. Would not stay here again! It is a good location but there are other hotels around jonker st.

The only good thing about this hotel is the closeness to Jonker. Otherwise, it’s one of the worst I have stayed in.
Air con didn’t work and thus couldn’t sleep for 2 nights.. toilet was ok though. Room was worn and slightly dirty and walls were old.
To be honest, to stay for one night is alright but with family, it’s a horrible place as the air con just didn’t work. Lobby had no air con too.. and it was dim and dark in the lobby.
breakfast was quite pathetic and nothing much left to eat when we went at 9.45am. Tables and floor were dirty and staff were slow to clean.
Corridor to the rooms were also dim and no air con.
Seriously I am not sure how they will continue. It’s really not worth the money.

Currently staying here at the moment and only have one night left. Great location but no air con - seriously it’s so hot you can’t sleep. Guy came up to look at it switched the thing up and down and said wait ten mins - never got any better. If can pick elsewhere do it !

Good but worn. The hotel must have been a real pearl about 3 years ago, but now, its good for a short stay. We booked the celebration room for a steal and we're not dissappointed. If you can overlook the wear, you'll be glad to stay there. Location is good, as it's close to the attractions. Hot tub fans will be in for a treat.

So I have read and expect what most reviews here have described - poorly maintained. The only saving grace is that its located at the heart of major tourist sites, plenty of shops and eateries nearby, and for a Deluxe Family Suite (without Jacuzzi tub), the price is unbeatable. Which is why we've chosen this hotel, though the experience is far from 3-star even.

With such a fine dine name like Sterling, it's hard to undo the things that happened to this establishment over the years. For one, both the carpet and curtain is dying to be replaced, bed sheet has some blood stains, the shower head leaks and the A/C took too long to work its cooling effect. But apart from these much needed refurbishments, the interior is fine, the Balinese-style bathroom is spacious [though with family suite, double sink seems more fitting] and we love how the TV is fitted into the wall panel, however the channel tends to lost its reception after a while and gave a good scare if you fell asleep watching.

Our stay comes with a complimentary breakfast which could have seen more variety (not even nasi lemak in sight?) and seems a bit too small to fit all the guests at full house occupancy. Likewise with the lift, especially when you're a big family arrived with kids and heavy luggages.

I got a feeling that the staying rate has not been revised for quite some time, which is a good thing for us guests, but probably not for long if it goes into renovation soon. Our kids are pretty happy with the space, so we have no issue for a night's stay. With so many hotel establishments blooming in every corner, who can blame us to go shopping for best hotel staying experience around?
