It was easy to find Heeren Palm Suites, located on one of the main streets around the Jonker area. Minimal traffic so a nice street to walk down. The Peranakan museum and Chinese Jewellery museum are on the same road as the hotel. We stayed in the Parameswara Suite which had a huge bath in the bathroom, lovely!

This hotel is a traditional Peranakan building, meaning it has lovely furnishings and great wooden staircases and floors. This unfortunately means that if you are on a lower floor, you can hear everyone upstairs walking around very loud. This was the only drawback of our stay and I think is an unavoidable feature of these kinds of old buildings.

Breakfast was nice, and the hotel staff were helpful if we stopped at the desk with a question. The housekeeping did once knock on our door despite our 'Do not disturb' sign being on the door. Staff were available to let you into the building if you stayed out late.

Overall a great choice of hotel in Melaka and would not hesitate to stay again.

Room Tip: Parameswara Suite has a huge bathtub.

Good location on the historical street where pioneers of the country stayed. Rooms are spacious. Had a day bed which was comfortable to watch TV with lots of cushions. Staff are friendly and always there to be helpful. Parking is round the back compound but limited to 4 cars. Nice cup of coffee in the morning to start the day. Front rooms are noisy. We had the room on the third floor, which was the attic. Spacious. Beware of mosquitos.

Room Tip: Avoid the front rooms

The hotel is very charming.
It is very well located in Chinatown and the staff is very friendly. The rooms are very spaciousand the furnitures and decoration in the hotel have been chose with taste. It is quite simple but delicate.
Breakfast is ok, nothing extraodinary.
We had a wonderful stay!

My husband and i spent 2 nights there. The hotel is nice and homey. The suite is spacious and we love the bed, the furniture and antique table below the flat TV, and the internet in the room is fast. The staffs are friendly. A good area near jonker street but quite noisy during weekend. they need to improve the breakfast. We love to stay there.

This hotel has a fabulous location, right in the heart of the historic precinct, and the building is splendid and a terrific renovation. I am always so pleased too see these old peranakan buildings restored and repurposed for a modern age. But as a hotel ... Hmm... Perhaps the owners are just learning the trade. For the price they need to think about the customer a little more. The service was not bad, and staff are very polite. But the whole experience just seemed to be missing something. We had asked for a non smoking room, but got a room where someone had been smoking. The interior design of the rooms is a little confused, with an inconsistent aesthetic - nice enough, but a little peculiar! And I did feel a little concerned about the fire risk (particularly if people are smoking in the rooms) ... there are fire extinguishers every few metres, but who knows how to use them?? And would guests actually be able to find their way out of this maze of a building? So, a good enough hotel but not sure i would stay there again.

Room Tip: The rooms at the front are very noisy on market nights... particularly as trucks start to pack up and drive away.
