I reserved two rooms, one for me, my husband and son, and another for my parents. My stay here exceeded all expectations. The rooms were spacious, comfortable and well appointed with modern amenities but retained its vintage charm. The room to accommodate my son had an extra day bed in addition to the king size bed. It should be noted the day bed was more than ample for 2 children. The hotel's location was one street offset from Jonker walk and close to the river (less than 10 mins walk) making it extremely convenient. The buffet breakfast spread was a nice surprise and rather tasty. It included both local fare i.e. chicken porridge (bubur), fried noodles, rice and chicken ("ayam masak merah") and an assortment of pastries when we sat to eat. Last but certainly not least, the staff was exceptional and very helpful. Each and every one I encountered went out of their way to answer questions or assist. A great experience and would definitely stay here again if I were to return to Melaka. Highly recommended!

Good:
- Spacious and modern room yet in an old building with the character maintained
- nice lemongrass scent in the room
- friendly and helpful staff, thank you Fateha and colleagues for your great service
- temporary parking in front of the hotel, staff parks you car at the hotel parking
- nice and simple breakfast served by very friendly staff
- great location at easy walking distance from sights (Baba & Nyonya Heritage House, The Stadthuys, Jonker Street Night Market, etc).
- Great building

Potential improvements:
- One of the two rooms had some stray light coming from the hallway through luxaflex blinders
- Car was not parked behind the fence but car undamaged etc. when retrieved.

Room tip: room 203 is the stray light room. Room 205 very well shaded and even more spacious

The 10 bedrooms hotel is located close to Jonker's Walk, a tourist spot. Its has a small exhibition of locate treasure. Beautifully design of plants & setup especially if you bring along young children. Great but simple breakfast like serving latte coffee as well. Very friendly staff. Room is also large & great design even with WiFi TV. Good place to stay though a bit pricy like MR266/night for weekend.

This property has been beautifully restored with large, modern rooms that are exquisitely appointed, while retaining the original charm of the building. It is very centrally located just a five minute walk to the Jonker Street shopping precinct which is transformed into a bustling night market on Friday evenings. A great experience throughout.

Dear AndrewDMcGregor,

many thanks for your wonderful review of the Heeren Palm Suites hotel. We are really happy to know that you had a great experience and that you have enjoyed your room. You have perfectly described our hotel as having been beautifully restored and conserved (as it is a conservation building within the UNESCO World heritage site of Malacca) but the rooms are large and modern while retaining the original charm of the building.

Our strategic location close to many of Malacca's places of interest including Jonker Walk and the Malacca River, is indeed one of our best features. It is lovely to hear that you have enjoyed the Jonker Street night market.

We extend you a warm welcome back to the Heeren Palm Suites if you are in Malacca again. Please feel free to reach out to us directly via email, whatsapp or facebook messenger for any assistance on planning any future trips.

Thank you once again and warm regards,
Jo-Anne
