Rucksack Caratel's primary plus is the excellent location. It is extremely central, but is set back enough where you don't have to compete with the night market traffic. I opted for a larger room with a view for a small upgrade price and I would recommend doing so if you are considering this hotel. The bathroom setup is a little strange and I would note that. The sink is outside the bathroom, which is fine, and the toilet and shower are in small frosted boxes. If you are not comfortable seeing your bunkmate nude or knowing that they dump, it may be an awkward stay. There's a very thin privacy line there. The hotel also seems to have some very strict Covid protocol that is still lingering. You have to tell them if you want a proper room cleaning. The location and sizable upgraded rooms make this an excellent option for your Malacca stay.

Rather than opting for a normal kind of arrangement for my small family usual family trip on school holidays, we then choose to stay in this establishment, full of hope it can offer something fresh. It safe to say that we had been blessed with wonderful experience instead. Their biggest selling point was definitely the location itself, as a host of attractions just a walking distance away. Yet we would like to remind you that parking spots are scarce, please act accordingly.

Check in process is smooth, we had been allotted with Buddy Caravan room (was informed that the rest – in which able to cater numbers of family members has been fully booked) The setup of room was ok, able to accommodate 2 adults and 2 kids accordingly. The mood / deco was full of reference towards the States pop culture, and possess so many instagramable spot, plus readying board games + books to read offers something different with the rest. Wi-Fi readied was surprisingly good, in which enabling me to settle pending office matters. The only letdown I can clearly see from both of my boys were their inability to have fun at readied pool, due to both of them can’t swim either.

I do confess that we will seriously consider of staying there in the near future.

Near to main square, bout 5 min walk, clean room(elvis) thought it was going to be noisy as situated next to the main reception but all good. Night market in town is good on sat and sun nights. Pool was small but OK, construction site behind was the view though. Shower was good, and water in the main reception area, both hot and cold available.

Stayed here for 4 nights and really enjoyed our stay! Rooms and beds are very comfortable. Used the pool several times and pretty much had it to ourselves. In a really good location quiet, but a short stroll to the town. Great value for money and loved that they had a water dispenser in reception for refills of hot or cold water. More hotels should do this.

I love this little hotel. The room is clean and bed is comfortable. Free carpark lot Infront of the hotel. Instagram photo spot all over the hotel. Love it.

Only con is the location is abit quite at one corner. Not far from the main action area but a 5min walk back on a quiet street to the hotel feel abit uneasy.

Room tip: Grab food and grab taxi is easily accessible. Make use of it
