Went in late October to celebrate our anniversary. Beautiful view, fabulous service, incredible food, amazing ambiance, very well mixed drinks . My only complaint is that it's not in our budget to go on a regular basis, but that's our issue, not theirs.

A suggestion...make an early reservation (ours was a 5:30) because being there when you get to see the view in daylight, sunset AND dark was the perfect way to go.

We started with a cheese tray. My husband had a trio of meat that included lamb, pork tenderloin, and filet. I had swordfish topped with crab meat. Then we shared a flourless chocolate cake. Everything was delicious. The service was fantastic. Our table by the window had a beautiful view of the city.

I did my usual research for an outstanding restaurant in Mobile for our semi-annual meeting with our financial advisers. I selected Dauphin's which was right across the street from our hotel, the Marriott Renaissance Battle House and was rated very highly. Dauphin's is on the 34th floor of an office tower with great views of the city.

We chose to have drinks around sunset and take in the views before dinner. The bar was a bit busy when we arrived but the staff was great, taking the initiative and reorganizing tables just at the window for us. They could not have been more courteous and professional. Following drinks we were showed to our table which had a great view (as requested) and our wait staff proved very helpful getting us started on appetizers and wine.

One of the misses of the evening was that when the bread and butter was served, the service included both savory and sweet butter made on premises, the bread was tough and so not really appealing at all. You know how nice it is to get bread hot and steaming seemingly right out of the oven, well as much as that is a great start to a meal, this was not. Extremely surprising and was the same for all four of us, not just the odd day old roll that somehow was left in the basket.

Service through out the meal was spot on and all the food met our expectations, except my wife's spiny lobster. It was over cooked. We live on an island and are used to fresh seafood properly prepared and know how easy it is to over cook fine seafood, but again, and it seems my wife suffers these misses more often than me, at a restaurant like Dauphin's this was especially disappointing. Two of us had the NY strip and it was very nicely prepared and most enjoyable.

We included a desert course in our meal ordering the Cre'me Brule'e which at Dauphin's comes in an edible cup called an "Alabama Pecan Lace Cookie". The Brule'e was quite good but the cookie cup was very dark and too hard to actually eat, opinion of the two that shared it. The other two, including me, shared the Leslie's Passion, which is a flambe' done table side and it was wonderful.

We closed out the meal with a cheese plate, actually from the starter menu, and glasses of port. This course was very good and a great close to the evening.

So, great view, furnishings were very nice. Quiet so that comfortable conversation around the table was easily accomplished. Service was excellent. Just a couple of elements of the evening did not match up to the rest. All in all, probably would go again just to see if perhaps these less than perfect elements were just one time events.

Went there recently with my daughter. I was stunned at the view and then got stunned again with the excellent quality of the food. Service was awesome as well. You have got to go there and check it out. Very good variety of food selections. Great place to have a Family Birthday Party or Special Celebration. 10 out of 10 Definitely. Ask for Emily

The food here was excellent as was the service. The view was incredible at 34 floors high! Highly recommend this restaurant.
