Nice lovely unique area of Shanghai! it's like a lively small hidden town with narrow street full of tiny shops, bars and foodies spots! It can get very crowded on the weekends, go by evening for a more romantic atmosphere, definitely something you cant miss!

Dapuqiao Station on Metro Line 9 takes you to Tian Zi Fang. Tourists can look for souvenir from Shanghai. It is maze of all kinds of shops selling everything to attract visitors. Some restaurants are located above the ground floor. It is worth having a sneaky peek inside these renovated relics of old Shanghai.

This used to be an unique place, old residential flats turned into art and photography galleries... with here and there the necessary café and restaurant.
In recent years money took over and this place is daily stormed by hordes of tourists who are looking for the same rubbish they can find elsewhere. There are just a handful of galleries left, the rest is in the hands of bars and shops.
It used to be a very nice and charming experiment, now it became a tourist destination, not much different from many others.

Cool, not so little, part of town. Include it in your itinerary when walking around the french concession.

The tight alleys and cool art shops are worth at least an hour of walking around. I included a Chinese haircut in my visit for around 20 bucks with a barber that only spoke one word in English: “ok”... high risk, but worked out fine.
