Good central location - use the metro, entrance below the hotel, its cheap, its fast and we did find some staff who understood English ! ( a rare thing in London ;-) ) Loved the city, plenty to do on a pleasant summer evening, felt very safe just walking around, although every other person wants to sell you a fake Rolex, handbag or some female company !
Nice room, good bathroom, everywhere very clean and well kept. Air-con worked well (essential for a red haired fair skinned Englishman !). Drinks fairly expensive (around £5 a pint for local draft beer, bottles more expensive), but not unusual for similar hotels in the west.
Food seems to have been chosen to take western requirements into consideration so always something familiar available and well presented.
View from the room wasn't great - the square in front of Shanghai Station below us, then the view over roof's and air conditioning units and the smoggy sky above, and all through a window which hadn't been cleaned in sometime, but I'm struggling here to fin something to moan about.More
