Book the courtesy shuttle bus as the hotel is about 30 mins from the airport. When going to airport make sure you leave with plenty of time as check-in/security at Pu Dong is s-l-o-w!
Not the hotel's fault and staff advised that an earlier shuttle bus rather than a later one would be sensible.
Room was big but trendily gloomy to the extent that the numbers on the combination locks of the cases couldn't be read without the (provided) rechargeable flashlight.
Bed good but sleep not easily come by as aircon was locked at 25c, making the room far too hot for comfort and opening windows were not available. Staff advised that this was because it was officially winter, even though outside temp was around 28c!
Breakfast OK, but available selection quite modest.

Room was very large, very good air conditioning and excellent bathroom.

Booked an executive room and when going to lounge there was a sign that person was away for a few minutes. Went back later and still sign was up. Called front desk and they mentioned lounge is only open from 2 pm - 4 pm (?). They offered a drink coupon to be used in lobby lounge, but coupon was only for a soft drink, not good for a beer.

Requested shuttle bus for 5:30 am but bus only starts at 6 am, flight was at 9 am, front desk advised Plenty of time. Bus left on time and took only 15 minutes, but there was a long line up outside airport to go through security check 1, then another VERY LONG line up to go through customs (about 45 min). We travelled business class but no separate line. Then again a line up to go through security check 2. So leave yourself enough time when booking shuttle otherwise take taxi.

Shuttle yes, but only once every hour
Breakfast very basic, staff typically chinese mentality (you will not be charmed).
Rooms clean and fairly big - their security cameras are limited and does not serve its purpose

Stayed one night before going to another city flying out of Pudong. I have transportation so i did not reserve the airport shuttle. The area is pretty safe if you like to go out to Chinese restaurants a block away, left and right of the hotel. There are also McDonald, Burger King and pizza place.
Room is clean WiFi was slow, but OK for email. I used the Howard Johnson sites and there is no P/W. Free breakfast was fine.

The hotel is very nice: rooms are large and luxury. I could not try breakfast as we left very early in the morning, but we did try the Chinese restaurant. Excellent Chinese meal with very reasonable price in spite the very elegant setting! Staff very helpful and English speaking. Price very reasonable for shangai standards.
