1. I red other reviews about long line for ticket but when I went, there was not big queue for ticket and going inside. I was there at 14:00.
2. 160 Yuans for entrance!
3. You can see many kind of fish, shark, penguin, purple, ... from different views :)).
4. You can go by metro. Nearest station is "Lujiazui"
5. It is near "Pearl Tower" you can plan to visit both.
Enjoy Your Trip :)

This is a nice small aquarium , well maintained with some interesting features like the long tunnel . Amazing to see shark egg with little fish moving inside and really nice jellyfish sector .
I suggest to spend one hour in this aquarium , even if you have seen biggest aquarium (Sidney , Genoa , Singapore , Montecarlo ....) , this is quite smaller .

Thank Giuseppe P

This is without a doubt the worst aquarium I’ve ever been to!

The initial bad problem was the amount of people there. We waited in line for tickets (which was overpriced even for western standards) for about an hour, and then another half an hour to get into the aquarium itself. In addition, inside it was like walking in a continuous line throughout all the exhibitions, there was always a ton of people in front of every tank. Furthermore, the people there had absolutely no respect for others. They were pushing and shoving, letting their kids run around like crazy, and just casually sitting down in front of a tank and eating lunch.

But the definitively worst part about this aquarium was the living standards for the animals. I did not see a single living thing there that had enough room. They had cramped over a hundred large fish in a tank the size of a hot tub, and the shark tank was not even two meters deep (when many of the fish there was at least that size). None of the tanks had any real plants, rocks or other natural things. It was all fake and plastic. None of the animals had any energy, they were all just standing or laying still on the ground. Which was really horrible to watch.

Really would not recommend! Do not support this animal abuse!

Way overpriced for Shanghai, it is a good aquarium. If Aquariums are your thing, you won't be disappointed. They have lots to see. If you've got children, they'll love it. If you live far from anywhere you can see an aquarium? Definitely. If you've been to aquariums before and are in Shanghai for a short time and have to choose between this and something more local? Probably find something you wouldn't see anywhere outside of China.
