Description: This restaurant had the best food and service of all the places where we ate in Costa Rica. Family owned and always on site. Cozy, very clean, and surrounded by beautiful vegetation. Friendly and helpful staff. I highly recommend the casados, a local dish - delicious! I ate it in other restaurants but it couldn't be compared to Chubascos. I swear I could eat that every day. For dessert, try the home made apple pie (Costa Rican apples) and the arroz con leche. Ah, and do not forget to try their natural fruit drinks. Their coffee is pretty good too.

We stopped here on the way to Peace Lodge with our 3 kids. Couldn’t have asked for a lovelier space with a large garden to explore, a comfortable outdoor/indoor restaurant and welcoming service. We had the unbelievably delicious green smoothie and the kids had the fresh strawberry and pineapple smoothie to accompany crispy patacones which were a must filled with a trio of beans, guacamole and pick de Gallo. The tilapia was fresh, the interesting veggie side dishes are unique and flavorful and the breaded chicken was the best the kids had ever eaten.

Such a quaint and serene setting. We fell in love the minute we walked toward the property. Welcomed by the smell of a wood-burning stove and cheerful servers, we grabbed a table that overlooked a park-like setting, filled with flora and we even saw a hummingbird. We loved the mocha capp and my husband's smoothie was the best we have ever had. Our meals were probably the best we have had anywhere, but #1 in CR for sure! The cheesecake with blackberries is a must-try. We cannot say enough good things about this gem. Priceless memories made today.

Nestled in the evergreen forest at the foothill of Poas Volcano, this place is the closest one can get to grandmom's recipies. The smell of burning firewood and the cozy enviroment makes for an unforgetable experience.
