Laid back place. We ate there two nights and were the only non Costa Ricans. (not sure if they know any English, menu only in Spanish) Very well priced. We had fish and shrimp ceviche and rice with seafood. Be aware the rice dishes come in two sizes, medium and large - but the medium is already huge and the large isn't much bigger. Food was tasty and filling, we brought home leftovers. Place is very low key, they have a couple of tvs playing (they had the news on one night and the Oscars the other)

Loved this neighborhood restaurant, and so did the neighbors apparently -- because quite a few were eating there!

Great food -- huge portions (order the pequeno size unless you are a really large eater). Our salad had super crunchy and zesty radishes -- had to have been picked today.

Four people with food and two beers came in at just under 20,000 Colones. One of the better deals that we've found in the San Jose area.

This place is fantastic. I ordered a seafood dish here that blew my mind. Seriously, one of the best meals I have ever eaten in my life for about $7. The dish is called Mariscos a la Marinera, I believe. This place is seafood heaven. Everyone here was super friendly, and you can even bring your own beer into this restaurant! It is conveniently located ACROSS (to the West) from the Judicial Court House in Alajuela. You can see signs for it or just ask around. It's fairly easy to find. Seriously, the best restaurant I went to in Alajuela hands down. Recommended from a local who lives there. You will not find an American in here, guaranteed : ) Helps to know a little bit of Spanish.
