The staff at Catarata was very nice and helpful. It seemed to be the local hang out for people on their way to work. The food was good and the view from the dining room was amazing! You could see the volcano from one of them and how many times do to get to eat while gazing on a volcano?

The rooms were adequate but a bit noisy at times, some of it other travelers, other times, just the birds, etc.

Nice place over all.

Got a bit concerned about staying here after seeing some negative reviews, once I realized they were by French tourist I knew they were irrelevant.

Me and my family enjoyed the setting, a lot of maintenance is done on the property daily. The location is ideal as you are not to close to town, so you will not hear buses or motorcycles and it is on the way to La Fortuna waterfall.

The rooms were cleaned daily, breakfast was the best we had after staying in 3 different hotels in Costa Rica (3 options and great coffee). I was able to park my car, no issues with safety. Ivania was very courteous and responsive to our request. One time I asked for watermelon juice and she picked up a whole watermelon from a nearby bench and took it to the kitchen and came back with two delicious drinks for my kids

The pool was more than pleasant to use after coming back from a hike or out and about.

I traveled with my wife, a 5 year old and a 3 year old and would highly recommend this hotel.

The lodge has nice grounds and a friendly staff. We saw many birds and beautiful flowers. It was really hard to get any sleep with screeching kids and people carousing at all hours any of the three nights we stayed. If you're planning on staying here make sure you get a room in the periphery if you are early to bed and rise.

This hotel is set back from the main resort but in a great location for visiting the volcanos! The setting is so relaxing in wonderful gardens and it has a relaxing pool area. The rooms as comfortable in bungalow style houses. We really enjoyed our stay here.

Near the Arenal Volcano National Park and Fortuna waterfalls. Good pool and good breakfast. Also close to the city. Just right. A great reference point to visit the Arenal Volcano and surrounding areas.

Room tip: Chalet near reception
