Owner description: This pleasant journey begins in a raft through the scenic Rio Penas Blancas. While you go paddling or floating downstream, our naturalist guide will show you a wide variety of trees, birds, monkeys and other wildlife. This is the perfect way to relax and enjoy the nature that usually coexists on this river. Fresh tropical fruit is offered at the end of this adventure. After that second activity is La Fortuna Waterfall; this place owns a beauty scenic surrounded by abundant vegetation, and great variety of flora and fauna. Excellent for swim in crystalline water or take pictures of the seventy meters height waterfall. Lunch has come on the right time, we will drive you to a local family house, there, you will enjoy a delicious typical lunch served in an open air area after lunch you can have a good cup of coffee and relax with the sounds of the nature. Third activity is the Arenal Volcano National Park. In contrast, Arenal is Costa Rica’s most active volcano. Within the national park, short trails pass through both secondary forest and lava fields from previous eruptions. Here you can see birds and some other wildlife during the walk. There are five different springs at Tabacon. A thermal river flows in two main channels throughout the resort. There is a cold river that winds through the property as well, offering up cooler pools that contrast nicely with the hot springs.

We were picked up from our hotel by Miguel and Michael. Michael was funny and personable- charming and full of character! You could feel his love and pride for Costa Rica as well as his passion for nature and animals radiate off of him! He went out of his way to find a sloth (a mom and baby!) and took pictures and video of them for us, as well as finding coconuts for us to try! On our volcano walk he spotted a baby pit viper and took the time to take pictures for us.
Lunch was fantastic! What an intimate and cultural experience. Thank you for a great day! Any other tours we go on during our Costa Rica vacation have big shoes to fill! Rain Forest Explorers have set the standard for tours!

We had our tour last week with Carlos Bonhill and our driver was Miguelito. We felt so lucky to be placed with them for the day. Carlos was so knowledgeable, patient and fun. We did the hanging bridges, waterfall and volcano tour with the most delicious meal that we have had in Costa Rica for lunch. We were amazed how Carlos could spot birds and animals. We were driving from one location to another and he spotted a sloth from the van. He had a telescope that took fabulous photos on our iPhones of everything that we saw. We were thrilled with this tour and the chance to see it all in one day. Carlos was so enthusiastic about finding everything for us. And I need to mention the casado lunch one more time as we were so impressed with the meal. Carlos was our accomplice on a day of adventure and learning and we truly appreciated his knowledge on each activity.

Thank Tara S
