Lovely room, maid service brilliant, great views and lots of bird life. On the downside breakfast is not good and even worse if vegetarian. We are one meat eater and one vegetarian. So bad we didn’t bother at all on the last day. Bar not in the slightest inviting, disappointed overall

Room tip: Stay somewhere else

We spent 3 days at the hotel. This place is a mixed bag-
Pros -
Great location. Beautifully landscaped to attract birds, frogs, etc and maintain privacy throughout.
Good restaurant with friendly staff. Breakfast is not as good as the regular menu. If you are drinking red wine, ask for a bottle that is not chilled.
Hot tubs nicely landscaped.
Helpful and friendly staff. Towel art in the bedroom a lot of fun.

Cons -
Rooms comfortable but sparsely furnished. No chairs (brought the ones from outside in) or bedside lamps (requested on and it was delivered). Not well insulated - can hear anyone outside or in the room above.
Hot tubs are only luke warm.
Hotel advertises itself as an ecolodge however most fabrics are synthetic material not natural.
We were glad to have stayed here but would probably not book again.

We stayed here for three wonderful days and already plan to go back. Located just outside of La Fortuna, it’s far enough away to give a sense of being in the countryside, yet close enough (2-3km) to make a quick drive into town. The grounds of the hotel are stunning: well-kept gardens of dozens if not hundreds of varieties of trees, bushes, and flowers surround a network of sidewalks, a pool with a bar, and several secluded thermal pools with jacuzzi jets—lovely, rain or shine. Clouds prevented us from seeing the volcano for the days we happened to be here, but that didn’t keep us from passing the time watching the dozens of different bird species easily visible from our balcony. The outdoor restaurant served some tasty dishes for dinner (try the brochette, prepared in a nicely seasoned coconut cream sauce). Massage at the spa was very nice, private but outdoors, surrounded by fresh air and peaceful jungle sounds. Shower (large, tiled, rainfall style with amazing water pressure) and aromatic bath products were divine. Sheets and towels smelled fresh, and the fridge and A/C were great. Got a good night’s sleep here every night. Housekeeping was super. Some amenities are a little funky so be aware if that’s important to you (poor Internet and TV reception, and had to request a bedside lamp), but don’t let that dissuade you from staying at this little corner of paradise.

We had the most wonderful stay at this beautiful hotel.

The grounds are stunning, the hot pools were a total highlight, our suite was perfect and the staff and service were top notch.

The food at the restaurant was delicious! We loved our stay and were very sad to leave

We loved the positioning - being a little out of town meant you were close enough to the action but also felt like you were tucked away in peaceful surroundings

My husband and I also had a massage each and it was total heaven!

Can’t recommend this hotel highly enough

Thank you Casa Luna

Very nice hotel and spa in La Fortuna. Located a bit outside of town, easy to get to. Nice grounds, pool with a few different smaller hot tub/spa pools, not very warm though. Well, landscaped grounds. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Restaurant was very good, open air, very good breakfast included with the stay, we had dinner there one night as well and the food was very good. Same waitstaff the whole time we were there so they got to know us.
Spa was actually very nice, small, open to air, surrounded by forest. Masseuse was excellent, better than I was expecting. All 4 of us had great experiences and the prices were much more reasonable than many spas I've been to.

Room tip: Take advantage of the spa services.
