We recently visited the resort for a girls trip/graduation trip. Upon arrival, our rooms were not ready. As we waited, one of our group received a call about an emergency back home. The resort was able to accommodate us in the Royal Beach Club at no additional cost so we could go to our rooms immediately. They also were able to remove the room charge for our friend while also helping schedule her return travel, let her stay the night and have dinner. Yaner Rosales helped us beyond what was called for and we’re so grateful.

The rest of our trip was fantastic. The food was above average for an all inclusive, the RBC service was impeccable as was the breakfast and private adults only pool. The grounds were maintained well, the rooms nicely done and entertainment was available daily. It was so fun to see all of the birds, monkeys and other wildlife at the resort. The resort was the perfect place to relax, enjoy the beauty and our friends.

We had such a great visit and none of us can wait to return.

Westin was just an ok all inclusive resort. I feel it was over priced and too commercialized for my taste.

The restaurants were mediocre, at best.
Room service food was not good and choices were worse.

Staff was great, tho.

If you want to do excursions, I would use Conchal Fun and speak to Andre. We did the jet ski’s, atv’s and catamaran sunset cruise through him.
It was AMAZING and less expensive than going through the resort. He made our trip magical.
Book with him, you’ll thank me later. I promise!

Yasil A, Manager at The Westin Golf Resort & Spa, Playa Conchal - All-Inclusive, responded to this reviewResponded 22 August 2018

Dear rachelryan4

Thank you for sharing your experience on your recent visit to The Westin Golf Resort & Spa, Playa Conchal. I am happy to know that you found our staff to be helpful and courteous.

Yet, I am sorry to read that you found our restaurants and room service under performing in food quality and I apologize for that. We strive to provide a seamless experience at our venues and truthfully this is one of our prime concerns, understanding the pivotal role that food & beverage play in an all-inclusive resort. A suggestion we have frequently shared is to book all your dinner reservations at check-in, in order to minimize complications with restaurants during your stay; though we understand it is somewhat intricate to fully delight customers new to this type of product and we are sorry we could not meet your expectations.

Thank you again for your feedback and I hope that all other aspects of your stay were to your liking.

Best regards:

Extremely awesome place to be with family and friends . The pool is big and refreshing . The food is great. The room is comfortable . Everyone was so helpful and went out of their way to answer our questions and make our stay memorable.
The beach is excelente but you need to get a knowledgable tour guide that can help you do anything specific, in my case I had the privilege to meet Mana from la fortuna he’s great help for everyone who wants to visit la fortuna his phone number is (011506 6195 7599). On the other hand , Erik Garcia from Conchal can also be great help for tours while you are at Playa Conchal.

Extremely friendly staff, well maintained property with many excellent choices for dining.
Our contact Ericka Diaz was amazing, she was very accommodating, thoughtful and caring. She navigated us through an unfortunate illness and followed up promptly to make sure that everything was good. The service staff, from the front desk(Gabrielle) to the housekeeping staff were excellent.

Pros-Location!!! Pool expansive, property well maintained, food options great, food quality very good. Italian, Asian, French great! Rodizo just so so. Rooms clean. Shows great at night! Imperial bar was fabulous nightly with the entertainment.
Cons-Service generally poor. Not enough help. Staff overworked—would see same waitstaff at late dinner seating and then again early in the am at breakfast——staff work VERY long hours. No drink service by pool (do it yourself), not enough help anywhere, bathroom by pool not cleaned frequently enough, shuttle service terrible, not enough, or too many empties batched together—-never when you need them by restaurants or bar at night. Even when you call for a shuttle you could wait 15 minutes. Reservations at restaurants a must but 8:30pm last seating is WAY too late. Often restaurants had open tables even though they shoe-horned us to late reservation. Note: they save the earlier seating for the Beach Club. Also they are constantly maintaining the property so you hear power washing and leaf blowing at 6:30am and way before 8am.
General-the resort is spaced out so there is a lot of walking. Lobby is up a STEEP hill. Beach is so nice, water calm. Did a few excursions with Erik Garcia and he was the best!!! Jet skis multiple days, ATVing super fun. Went big game fishing and caught three 9-10 foot sailfish and eight 30-40lb tuna. Shuttle to Tamarindo was ok (a little pricey @ $25pp), walked around the shops in this surfing town. Beach was nice but there are a lot of peddlers.
Overall-memorable stay with family!!!
