“Very unique experience with great hosts.”

We spent 10 relaxing days at the guest house and were very pleased with the choice we made. Our intentions were to cook our own breakfast each day, pack a lunch for our outdoor daytime activities and either eat dinner out or cook at home. We were adopted by a local cat who was happy to eat our leftovers and we also became friendly with Doug - a coati that lives nearby but breakfasts at the house each morning. The house is in a very good location which allowed for daily trips to local beaches for snorkeling and surfing/body-surfing and was also 20 minutes from the town of Tamarindo which provided more activities - shopping, dining, etc. should we desire.
The food in the newly opened restaurant in the compound served excellent food with a spectacular view which was great because it was walking distance from the house. The kitchen supplies were more than adequate for our needs as the hot plate and mini-fridge allowed for us to cook daily breakfasts and prepare our lunch for eating on the beach and we easily prepared several dinners during our stay.
We found the beach at Bahia Pirate (3 kms from the house) to be especially good for snorkeling and relaxing and there were plenty of shaded areas.
My wife and I were comfortable on the double bed but would have preferred a queen size and the internet access was a little slow and not accessible from inside the house. The road to the house was in very poor shape due to recent rainfall so we opted to park our rental car at the bottom of the hill and walk up the small hill to the house each day. Not major issues but these are the reasons for our 4-star rating rather than 5.
Kim and Tim are wonderful hosts and were very helpful questions we had regarding the area and with suggestions for places to go.

“A Perfect Oasis”

This was a fantastic place to stay! There is something so peaceful about the location that it was the perfect place to unwind and relax! The rooms are bright and airy and the view from the deck was perfect to enjoy with a cup of coffee. Kim and Tim were great hosts and very knowledgeable about the area. There's some lovely beaches really close by, even one in walking distance. Monkeys, turtles, coatis, snorkelling... there is tons of wildlife to discover! One of my favourite excursions from here was walking along the beach to Brasalito, a nearby town, for breakfast at a local soda (cafe). I'm already planning my next visit and am looking forward to staying here longer next time!

“Excellent Location for Playa Conchal and Relaxation”
Reviewed 17 September 2014 for a stay in September 2014

Great little property away from the activity!

First, this is a great place to relax and take in Costa Rica. You hear howler monkeys in the distance, can walk to a beach that you. Might have to yourselves more days than not, and have Coati's come up on your back porch (yes it's pretty cool).

It's out of town, but in A gated community and the tour/trip guides had no problem picking us Up at the gate.

It could sleep six, but I think it was ideal. For my wife and I. With a four wheel drive, the trip along The beach and past the reserve was very Cool and we ended up in Brasilito for coffee and brunch. Tamarindo was also a short drive, but very accessible (and we had more beach/less people!

Tim and Kim were excellent hosts and for the money, atmosphere and a 'real' Costa Rica experience, this is very hard to beat!!!

Thanks for the great time!!!
