Just came back from 2 week stay at Villa Del Sol and the Villa was beyond my expectations. Serge and staff went out of their way to make our stay special. Beautiful grounds and location was perfect. We had a group of 12 and never felt like sardines. Plenty of room for group activities or quiet spaces for reading or napping. Would definitely go back again.

I booked this room as a part of a diving package with Deep Blue Diving and couldn't have been more pleased. It's a 5 minute walk from the main street of town but seemed like a hundred miles from the noise. Large clean rooms, beautiful pool, lovely staff, manicured grounds, I would love to visit here again.

Our extended family of 8 (3 grandparents, 2 parents, 3 children) stayed at Villa del Sol, Playas del Coco, Costa Rica, Dec 18-25,2013.

This is a lovely spot a block from the ocean on the outskirts of town (so it's quiet). Has a nice pool and beautiful gardens. Staff are great (on a couple of the days, due to crews burning branches in the streets nearby, it was a bit smokey, making it hard for the staff to keep the place clean). Our extended family of eight rented for the week ending on Christmas. We booked back in June so were given the whole B&B to ourselves as though it were a condo or house. Each of the five bedrooms has its own AC with remote. Five bathrooms! Large common areas. Living room could use a big couch. Found a really competent cook who lives nearby, a capable young woman who came to our place for a few hours every day to cook and clean up after supper. She even made extra for next day's lunch. For an extremely reasonable hourly rate, she prepared the greatest Chicken Cordon Bleu, Shrimp and Pasta in a wonderful sauce, and much more . If you're staying around Playas del Coco, you can contact her on Facebook at Joharis Leizan Castillo (listed under San Jose, Costa Rica, now lives in Playas del Coco).

I stayed with Serge for a week while my condo was being readied. Great experience, especially for a photographer. Lots of greenery and birds right on the property. And the beach just a couple of minutes walk. You can hear the surf. Monkeys live in the neighbourhood and other great photo ops nearby. Just a fifteen minute walk along the main road into the heart of downtown. Thanks to Serge for developing a great sanctuary away from home.

I went with Global Leadership Adventures, and a huge part of why I loved this country was Villa Del Sol! The rooms are comfortable, the AC is perfect, and the view is breathtaking. Iguanas, chickens and geckos wander on to the grounds and make it fun. The pool is perfect, both the B&B and the Studios are excellent, and it's so close to the gorgeous black sand beaches! Also, the town of Playas del Coco is amazing, if a little touristy. Only thirty minutes away from the airport, located in the gorgeous province of Guanacaste in one of the greatest countries in the world, you will be homesick as soon as you leave Villa Del Sol.

Room tip: The best room is Room 6 in the studios. You can see the ocean from Rooms 4 5 and 6.
