What a wonderful view from our Vista Suite looking out over one of the swimming pools over the forested area and then out to sea. Sitting on the balcony just admiring that was a delight. Lovely to have the jacuzzi bath on the balcony, that was fun! Good room, lovely large, comfortable bed. Not quite sure why you need a telephone in the bathroom - but who knows! One small point, the shower was impossible to get to a nice temperature without making it so powerful it actually hurt!!

We loved the wildlife around the hotel and enjoyed a couple of the excursions booked through the the hotels excursion booth with Verde Aventura. The 'Mysteries of the Night' satisfied my desire to see the red eyed tree frog - plus many other frogs and other creature! We also love the 'Walking Tour of Manual Antonio National Park'. Yes, you could go by yourself to the park, but you woundn't see half as much as we did with our guide Danny (who actually did the night tour with us too).

One of the best bits was seeing a 3 toes sloth moving around a tree just close to our room. We got some great photos and video!

All in all a lovely few days were spent here at the end of a wonderful holiday in Costa Rica. Thank you Hotel Parador.

Room tip: Great views from the suites

My fiancé and I visited the Hotel Parador in March 2015 and we LOVED this resort. We flew into the San Jose airport and hired Relaxury to drive us to the hotel (they were awesome, highly recommend them!). The hotel is a bit far from the airport (almost 3 hours), but if you want to shorten the trip you can always fly into Quepos and then drive from there - if we ever go back we would consider doing that. We didn't rent a car and got around using either the hotel shuttle or a cab ($10 to anywhere you like!).

When we arrived at the hotel we were greeted by the friendly staff with a cold towel and someone to take us to our room. The entire trip the staff were all so friendly and helpful!

At this hotel you feel as if you're at an all-inclusive resort! The resort is HUGE. It was fully booked while we were there but at no point felt crowded. We made good use of all the hotel amenities - pool, tennis, mini-golf, nature trail, gym & yoga. The yoga instructor was soooo good and no one else came to the class so I ended up having my own private class - it was soooo relaxing! The kids pool was a bit crowded, but the adult pool is tucked away and is nice and quiet if you're looking for some relaxation.

Our room had a beautiful ocean view and TONS of wildlife could be seen at any time of the day. One morning a monkey came right up to me on the balcony and then jumped into a tree. There was so much wildlife to be seen at the hotel, it was really incredible! We saw so many beautiful birds, monkeys, and iguanas.

The interior of the room was nice and clean. It's not the most beautiful room I've ever stayed in (a little dated), but the main thing was it was clean and the beds were really comfortable.

The hotel is only a short drive from many of the local restaurants, beaches, and shops. Every night we would book a reservation at a nearby hotel or restaurant to try their cuisine.

The morning breakfast buffet (that was included for free with our room) was delicious! We didn't realize that breakfast was included until we got there, so that was an added bonus!

I HIGHLY recommend booking a guided tour of the national park through the hotel. Our guide was really friendly and passionate about his job as a tour guide. The tour guides have telescopes and can spot the wildlife that your untrained eye wouldn't be able to.

The nature trail on the hotel grounds was beautiful. One part of the trail takes you right down to the ocean and it was stunning. It was one of my most memorable moments of the trip.

The only "con" is the drinks were a little bit expensive and the evening menu was a bit on the pricey side. Other than that we absolutely LOVED this hotel and return in a heart beat.
