Spent a week here with my wife and we absolutely loved the villa and especially the caretaker, Eladio.
From the moment we first arrived, we were welcomed with very loving arms by Eladio who made sure to show us everything in the home, helped us with our luggage, and got us settled. Then he seemed to vanish, but was always available when we needed him for anything. I can't say enough about this lovely man who really made the stay that much better. He always had a smile on his face and was willing to pantomime (our Spanish is terrible) as we explained our day and what we had done. He even went and gathered a bunch of mangoes for us and left them on our counter when we were out at the beach. He really is a gem for this villa.
As for the home itself, the views are astounding and can be drunk in from the balconies and pool area. Really beautiful and feels very private. Our room was kept tidy almost daily by Eladio and we never lacked for anything in that regard.
The kitchen is well equipped with blender, crock pot, coffee maker, ice maker, and various other appliances as well as pots and pans for cooking. Basically, as long as you aren't going to be making a gourmet meal, you should be covered with all the necessities. As a note, the villa doesn't include any condiments so make sure to include those in your shopping list.
The pool was a great temperature and nice for relaxing after a beach day or hiking in the rainforest and it was kept clean throughout our stay.
Bedrooms were nice sizes and the air conditioning worked really well for nighttime sleeping. We didn't feel like we needed it at any other time as the rooms stayed pretty cool throughout the day. The master bedroom also had a great large safe that easily fit my laptop as well as a bunch of camera gear. The bed was my only downside with the master bedroom as it was really firm. I'd like just a bit more luxury when sleeping, but slept pretty well on it regardless.
My only other critiques for the place would be that some of the screens on the patio doors could use fixing as the bugs had a heyday coming in at night through some gaping holes. Also, the ice machine runs almost all the time pumping out copious amounts of heat into the kitchen which doesn't help keep the heat down upstairs. I would also definitely arrive during the day as the location can be a bit hard to find for the first timer.
Overall, this is a great villa at a great price. Don't miss the monkeys that come strolling through or the iguanas that all seem to have a personality of their own. And Eladio is, by far, the best caretaker I have ever met.
