We were staying at the Intercontinental resort and decided to head off for a walk. We stopped in at several shops, did a bit of shopping and after a bit started thinking about getting some lunch. Well just a bit further along we seen this little gem of a place right along the roadway serving lunches to mostly local folks. We always say while on holidays that if a place is serving food to locals that it must be good food. We were right. This is more like a food truck than a restaurant but they do have several tables out side around back. Food was excellent. Highly recommend this [lace. If you find yourself near here and are looking for good food at reasonable cost do not hesitate to stop.

Wow. After $20-$30 average for meals on Moorea, this was a pleasant change. They have quite an expansive menu including crepes, sandwiches and omelettes for a reasonable price (about $6-$7).

FOOD
We ordered off their salad menu, which cost about $14 and we ended up with huge portions!! I ordered the Tuna Carpaccio Salad and Ryan got their Grilled Fish Salad.

Tuna Carpaccio Salad
I. Was. Stuffed. My lettuce salad was topped with a mount of what seemed to be a pound of tuna, drizzled in oil, garnished with a slaw and seasoned with pepper. Ryan and I had a side of fried rice with both our meals but you could also have fries.

Grilled Fish Salad
Ryan's salad was more of a cucumber, tomato and cabbage slaw with a well-grilled, gigantic slab of fish (can't remember what kind it was).

We had little espressos to go with our meals (I know, odd to pair fish with coffee haha) since we had just woken up.

SERVICE/AMBIENCE
Service was very nice! We ordered at the counter then seated ourselves behind at a few tables set up under a canopy. There is an outhouse for you to use as well. They brought the food out to you and there was a big tray of assorted sauces at the counter you could grab from which I found a nice touch. It was a little bit if an annoyance to fight the hovering flies, but that's island life for ya

All in all, an excellent meal well worth the price.

I am so happy that we were able to have lunch here as from tomorrow they are close for vacation. The owner/chef was very nice and accommodate my meal... being vegetarian has been tough here in tahiti.. yes you can get expensive meals... but nothing moderate price. Chef made grill tofu panini.. it was simply delicious

We stumbled upon this place quite by accident and boy ae we glad we did. The ahi salad was an incredibly large portion with hot and fresh shoestring fries, and the texan sandwich was on a fresh baguette that must have been a foot and a half long. While not licensed, our server suggested the option of purchasing some Hinano beer at the store next door and having them at our table, which was a delighful bonus. Had we stayed another day we would likely have come back. Well worth travelling from afar to enjoy.

This great little roadside stop has great food! Fred the owner is a funny guy and a great cook! Don't come here if you are in a rush as it often gets quite a crowd! Do yourself a favor.....after lunch, have the waffle with chocolate and whipped cream!
