Great night sleeps, a flowing river outside my door, and abundant nature. Absolutely stunning location. Loved the peace, quiet, and serenity. Perfect place to stay while attending a yoga retreat. Saw a bear:-).

This lodge is so great that my wife and I go back to it each year. If you have read my previous review, please be assured that nothing has changed. It is still spotless, the service is fantastic, and the view from the Lodge is priceless.

This year, we met a very nice couple from Juneau and another one from New York (both couples room neighbours). The establishment lends itself to meeting people, if you are so inclined, but it also offers you all the privacy in the world if that is what you want.

New this year was the fact that two grizzly sows had two cubs each. For photographers and wildlife viewers, the bear traffic was fantastic, and photo opportunities were endless.

Go there--you will love it!!

Room tip: There is no bad room here--all rooms offer views of the exciting wildlife utilizing the Chilkoot River!

We stayed here for 3 nights in early August. Our primary reason for staying here was to see bears. We were lucky enough to see them each day - twice in the morning, once in the evening. The scenery was beautiful and the room was very nice. You should book early if you're interested in staying here because they only have 3 rooms.

Our family of four stayed at the Chilkoot River Lodge in July 2015. This is a very small lodge, just three rooms. We never actually saw our host while we were there, which was fine… the key was left for us, we had everything we needed. It is very quiet and the view is to die for. We spent a couple of hours each night sitting on the porch outside the room and looking down on the river. We loved watching the eagles, and even saw a grizzly come lumbering through at dusk. It's about a 10-minute drive from town, so you'll need a car to get around. The owner was friendly and easy to work with and made a recommendation for a car rental and activities for us. Definitely a special place!

The very small (three guest room) Chilkoot River Lodge is spectacularly situated on a bluff above the lower stretch of the Chilkoot River. We visited in August during the start of the pink salmon run, and spent hours on our patio area watching anglers, eagles and a brown bear sow with two cubs, all fishing. What an amazing location!

Our hostess, Sue, has thought of and provided all the creature comforts for her guests. Our room was nicely appointed with two queen beds, luxurious bedding, a modern full bath, efficiency kitchen (microwave and apt size fridge), and table with chairs. There are dishes, flatware, and a coffeemaker, salt, pepper, dish soap and towels all available for your use. There is also a lovely covered pavilion equipped with picnic tables, gas grill, and a locker with grilling tools and a variety of spices available for guests to cook their dinners.

Sue made sure that each guest had clean towels, plenty of coffee and delicious breakfast muffins waiting in their rooms each day, She is also a font of information about the area and about native culture.

I almost hate to write this review -- this place is really too good to share. We hope to return again for a longer stay. It really is a special place.
