We spent three very enjoyable nights in Bear Cabin in Tustumena Ridge Cabins, operated by Bob and Susan Toll. The cabin was rustic, cozy, and totally charming, and it was also immaculately clean! We arrived in the early evening in the middle of pouring rain, but Susan already had a nice fire already going in the wood stove – wery welcome and very thoughtful on her part.
It’s less than three minutes off Sterling Highway, just a few miles south of Soldotna. The location is very convenient for anywhere on the western side of the Kenai Penninsula.
Bob and Susan were great hosts and really interesting to talk to. Susan is an Alaskan native, and Bob has spent all of his adult life there. Needless to say, they are a wealth of facts and fascinating stories about Alaska. We can’t say enough about Bear Cabin, and if we can get back to Alaska - and we’re already trying to figure out a way – we will definitely be spending more time in Bear Cabin.
