Very odd thing here. I saw only two rooms; they were both the same price, yet one had a small refrigerator and a microwave and the other didn't. It strikes me that they should not have been priced the same with one having fewer amenities. Also, the water is a light orange color, very off-putting. Not sure if the whole town is like that or not...happily not staying but two days. I sure hope they don't make the coffee with it. I used bottled water to make a cup in my room.

Room tip: I'd ask for a water view if I ever returned.

Live in Ketchikan and eat at the restaurant occasionally. Usually very quiet and it is a beautiful setting. We went for dinner May 31st and were very disappointed in the service and quality. Server was very inexperienced as a waiter and bartender and drinks were poorly made. Ordered a Caesar salad and first got a plate of iceberg lettuce, some chopped egg and no dressing, asked for a real Caesar and got a plate of iceberg lettuce with Caesar dressing mixed in and croutons. Also had a bowl of the seafood chowder, which in the past has been good but this tasted like it have been in the pan for days. Didn't try anything else. Not a good place to eat anymore.

I appreciate your comment and have shared them with the Restaurant Staff. We have made some major changes in the Culinary and Restaurant Staff and are in the process of put in place a new menu in the near future. Hopefully you will give us another try and allow us to show you we can do it right.

My husband and I have stayed at Edgewater twice recently and I must say that the experience was MORE than I had hoped for. The rooms are clean , the free breakfast was excellent ( brewed a fresh pot of decaf for me) ....the staff are friendly and actually care about you....my opinion #1 in Ketchikan and they give Alaska residents a discount!

Room tip: Request and staff will do all they can to accommodate

I loved this motel. From the front desk to the amazing room I had overlooking the water. They worked out a price for me and I am so glad I treated myself to this room, it was huge, clean, big windows , sitting right on the water. The bed was a little too soft for me but still had good nights sleep. The breakfast that came with it was wonderful . Iva , the morning waitress and cook was a joy. I would stay here again. Plus it was so quiet, very peaceful.

Dear Twilight Night

Thank you for your kind words about our property and about my staff. We are all very proud of our Hotel. Our location, as you noted overlooking the water is one of the most beautiful and serene locations in Ketchikan and my staff takes great pride in keeping it one of the cleanest hotels I have ever worked in. Iva is one of a kind and is recognized by our guests over and over again, we are fortunate to have her as you noted. Thank you again for your kind review, we hope to see you again when next you pass this way. JWM-GM

We stayed at the Edgewater Inn for three nights. They picked us up from the lodging that we were leaving, and this made it much easier to move. When we arrived the receptionist told us that we had been upgraded to a waterview room. The room was very comfortable and clean. When I asked for an extra pillow, they brought it right away. The deluxe breakfast was another great surprise. We were offerred eggs, sausage, potatoes, coffee, tea, juice, yogurt and fruit. The waitress was a former tour guide and fun to talk to.
We dined in the restaurant one night and the food was very good. Our waiter was a professional magician, and did some magic tricks for us. That was wonderful.

Room tip: Ask for a water view room on the second floor.
