“Gracious staff, spectacular setting, perfect stay”

Villa Dukuh is one of the most amazing luxury properties we've ever been to: secluded and serene, yet the sights of Bali are still easily accessible; tastefully designed; plenty of activities to keep one occupied, but also space to kick-back and relax; an incredibly nice and helpful staff; and a stunning setting.

The property consists of 4 rooms arranged around a pool overlooking a lush river valley. The architecture, interiors, and landscaping perfectly takes you into your own private world away from the touristy hustle of Bali. The Villa is several miles down a small road and in the middle of a small rice growing village, but the beaches and attractions of the Seminyak area of Bali are no more than 30 minutes away. We have never stayed in a more comfortable and serene location.

The courteous and extremely helpful staff are a major highlight of the experience. They consistently went out of their way to ensure that we had all we could desire from transport to meals, to massages. We arrived in Bali at midnight and had to wait in a long immigration line, and were so happy to see the Villa's friendly driver waiting for us with bottles of water right outside the airport. The Villa's staff in fact provided transportation around the area as we explored the following days. We left with the impression that if something was in their capacity to provide, they would happily do it.

The Villa's cooks are top-notch. Everything is freshly made the day of, using groceries from that morning's market. The menu has a wide range of Balinese and western food, all of which are superb. There are many restaurants around the Seminyak area, but we honestly enjoyed the Villa's cuisine so much we chose not to explore further.

We highly recommend staying here. It is great for couples, families, and groups of friends. There is plenty to do for children (such as the pool, a nice TV room, pool table, etc). There was really nothing we found lacking, and we hope to go back again.

“Excellent service, great property, will go back”
Reviewed 2 December 2013 for a stay in November 2013

I have been back from Bali for a few weeks, and I still think about Bali from time to time. I went to Bali with family and friends, we all loved our stay at Villa Dukuh. The service from the team is great, the villa is very nicely designed, the food is great. I wish I had more time to stay in the villa.

The owner, Andrew, is very helpful with making reservations and answered all my questions, and very flexible with methods of payment.

Gede, the manager, is the main contact once we get to the villa. His English is excellent. Besides the regular stuff, he went out of his way to help me wrap the huge wood carving I bought in Bali. It was very well packed, and the delicate carving survived air travel without a scratch.

My only complain is the village road to the villa really needs some work. It is very bumpy and since you can't drive fast on it. But the Villa itself is truly amazing, the view, the room, the staff, everything is excellent.

“Heaven on earth!”
Reviewed 12 November 2013 for a stay in November 2013

Villa Dukuh could very well be the ultimate 'home away from home'! When deciding on Bali accommodation, the decision is always the choice between hotel resort or private villa. If you want the feel of owning a slice of paradise, if only for a week, a private villa is absolutely the way to go. And Villa Dukuh is just amazing!

Staff: Gede, Nopa, Nik and the team took the experience to another level. Constantly available (whilst being unobtrusive - quite a skill!), they made sure that we were pampered, relaxed and loved on. Nothing was too much trouble and we availed ourselves of poolside villa massages, scooter trips to inland villages, restaurant recommendations, day trips and Nopa's card tricks to entertain the kids.

Bedrooms: 4 generously proportioned bedrooms, 3 with own lovely ensuites, complete with carved stone baths and views. Beds are four-posted king-size with crisp white linen. Full suite of furniture so you can unpack and feel at home. Air con provided. Wall safe available.

Living area: open plan and overlooking the pool area. Lounge, dining, kitchen and snooker table all run together, with an air-conned media room to retreat to when needed. Heaps of paper backs and board games on hand. Bar fridge stocked with all the goodies - help yourself and just write them in the book. Made the villa feel like it was your space.

Facilities: Pool was stunning, grounds immaculate, tennis court was fab. In-house dining was first class and we ate waaaay too much ;) The cost of the meal and drinks bill at the end of 7 nights was embarrassingly cheap.

Worth noting: The villa is set at the back of a village well out of Seminyak. You are about 10min to the main road, and a total of 45min to Seminyak in average traffic. However, this is completely offset by the quality of the experience that Villa Dukuh offers, and Gede will have you city bound any time the urge hits.

In short, couldn't rave enough. Thanks Andrew - we'll be back! X

“An Oasis of sheer beauty and perfection.”
Reviewed 7 July 2013 for a stay in June 2013

Away from the hustle and bustle of Bali, through a maze of gorgeous traditional Balinese villages, our driver took us to the front door of Villa Dukuh. On entering the villa our group of only four were amazed that for 9 days we would have this beautiful large villa to ourselves with a jaw dropping view of the ravine and jungle below. We were celebrating my son's girlfriends 21st and their 2 year anniversary. With that, the staff put on a spectacular night for us, surrounding the pool and us with candles and putting on a superb balinese feast - they made it so very special. I have stayed at several villas in Bali and this villa has been created as an oasis of sheer beauty and perfection with everything thought of. On shopping trips or going out for lunch, we couldn't wait to get back to our villa where our beautiful staff looked after us so well, including the wonderful meals they cooked for us. The saddest part about leaving the villa, was leaving the beautiful friends we made there. Each and every one of them were gorgeous, genuine and funny. Especially the remarkable Gede, the manager, who nothing it seemed was too much trouble for him. With all the questions we asked we were so impressed by his wisdom and knowledge. To our friends at Villa Dukuh, we will definitely see you again!!
