We stumbled upon his cellar while I was admiring their pretty garden. Teo opened up his doors & could not have been more gracious and friendly. He allowed us to sample is liquor and treated us so well. He insisted that we take a sample bottle with us. It was such a nice little surprise that I'd recommend others visit!

The Innkeeper, Teodoro makes this a maximum-star place to stay. This is a cozy, well kept setting for honored guests to enjoy. The location is in the heart of the citadel at the base of the covered stairs. The wine cellar is wonderful. You must take a moment to step into the cellar and sample a little of Domnul Teo's fine award-winning wines.

Room Tip: The room is big enough for the bed. The table outside your room is your place to enjoy the courtyard and take a bite of cheese and bread with a glass of wine or a bit of palinca brandy. (I recommend at least trying the palinca Romanian Plum Brandy.)

good place to get drunk if you have a lot of money for cheap tzuica.
Teo guy is a pleasant folk. but he s overprincing his drinks.
a bottle of house made wine, good but not awesome, is 14 euros. for this price I can buy a really good quality Moldavian or France wine. the house is average, with some cheap decoration. this place can be managed better.

We didn't stay here (we stayed opposite at the Frosnius Residence) but Teo opened up his cellar to show us his award-winning fruit brandies (palinca) and wines of which he is justifiably proud. We came away with a smile on our faces and some sample bottles to take home. If the pension lives up to the standards of his booze (and he is certainly enthusiastic), its probably well worth trying for those on a budget.

There are plenty of options for lodging in Sighisoara, some of them more expensive than the others (from 120 euros/ night to 30 euros), so you can choose what best suits your needs. What distinguishes this property is the value you get for what you pay: for 40 euros/night (or less), you get a very beautiful, very clean modern room with great facilities and the best mattress to sleep on, in centuries old buidling. You get top service from Teo, the owner, an internationally-recognized producer of spirits (wines, plum brandy, etc). The mini-fridge in the room includes 30 euros worth of these drinks, which makes the lodging price a bargain. Location is great, in the middle of the citadel. A great finding in Sighisoara, not well advertised, which makes it a hidden gem.
